| my parents' yorkie needs your thoughts hi everyone, i just found out that my parents' yorkie (pogo) had to have emergency surgery a couple days ago to remove her uterus. my parents had never gotten her spayed because they thought they might breed her, but after 9 years, they never did. unfortunately, they did not know that not spaying a female dog (and not having babies) could cause health problems. anyway, i guess her uterus had gotten infected or something due to going through years of heats and never becoming pregnant... she is out of the hospital now, but still very lethargic. the vet said she has an above 80% chance of returning to her normal self (good odds, i think). but i still would like everyone to keep her in your thoughts. thanks! YT is awesome.

| Poor thing .. I believe its called Pyometra? We've been through that a few times between us and our friends Yorkies. All of ours bounced right back though after several days and good rest and lots of love!

YT 2000 Club Member | Sending many thoughts and prayers up for this lil girlie. My cat Justice had went through the same things a few years back, it was pyometra (sp) and she almost died from it. She had emergency surgery and made a complete recovery and is now very healthy. I hope everything works out for your parents lil one.
