| Newbie looking for a yorkie Hi all. I just joined the forum and my family and I have been looking into getting a yorkie for the past few months. We already have a 7 month old Labrador/Collie cross who is 7 months old and male. He's getting neutered in the next couple of weeks. My only child is our 7 year old daughter who loves all animals and already tells us she wants to be a vet when she grows up! I am looking to get a young pup but dont know if it's better to have a really young pup about 10 or so weeks old, or is it better to have a slightly older rescue one? Our current dog is good with other dogs he meets and never bothers our 2 cats, who just sleep all day Oh, we are in Scotland and I am a full-time mum and housewife and am at home all day with my current pets. Look forward to chatting with you all. Tracy x |

| Welcome to YT....Parker is my second Yorkie, and I love the breed. This site has a wealth of information on Yorkie's and I wish I would have found it before I bought my first Yorkie. You are doing the right thing in doing your research before you decided. Good luck with whatever you do decide......

| There are several great breeders here. However I'm not too sure there are breeder here that live in the UK. My personal preference would be to give a home to a slightly older rescue.

| if you think i older rescue would fit in your home i would recommend it.. there are always people willing to buy pups.. but not so many people will to give an older dog a new home and 2nd chance at life
