| Ahhh Her Feet Were Peeling!!!! Is this normal? I was grooming Coco last night at our routine grooming time, and I noticed that on her two front paws, HER PADS WERE PEELING!! Has anyone else had this? Her pads were soft underneath but they had dead skin on them that I gently peeled off. She didn't even care and there was nothing on her back legs. Maybe I unknowingly put her down on hot pavement, could that have caused it?

| My cousin had a Jack Russell that she took to a pool party. He was jumping in and out of the pool and running around on the hot cement all day. At the end of the day they looked at his feet & they were all bloody and raw. The combination of the chlorine from the pool & the hot cement did a number on his poor little feet. He healed pretty quickly & didn't seem to feel much pain. I'm not sure about Coco, but at least she doesn't seem like she is in pain. I would keep a close eye on them though & if they get any worse have her checked out. Good luck!

If she is doing that...could it be just dry from all of that?? gosh... I'm not sure...

| Oh that was a while ago. She hasn't been swimming since like 2-3 weeks ago. It's way too hot to go outside unless it's after 7 or 8. I love those videos though, thanks!

| I haven't a clue. Some dogs have allergies to grass or it could be hot pavement. I think I'd put lotion on them and talk to my vet. |

| this could be also realated to allergies... you mentioned itching ...in an other post. I think you should have your puppy tested for allergies. It may also eliminate this issue |

| I have a dog that has soft pad and I over excerise her to the point she was rubbing her paws raw. There is also a case I walked one of my dogs on the hot sidewalk and it cause his soft pads to blister and peel. Does any of these thing sound like it could of happen to Coco? |

| I don't walk her for too long or too much but I could be wrong. She's so small that maybe walking her for 20-30 minutes is too much for her. Or the ground could still be pretty hot, even though it's eevning time and the weather is cool. Her pads weren't raw or chafed (sp) or anything. They were black, shiny and soft. I think you're right, that they probably just got blistered from a combination of walking and hot pavement.

| Just keep it clean and it will heal up in a couple of days. Option: you can but antibotic cream on her bad to prevent infection but you have to watch her so she doesn't lick it. One of my friends suggested I rubbed "Bag Balm" on my dog's paw. You can buy either all Walmart. Here is some info on "Bag Balm":http://www.horsetackco.com/product_i...roducts_id=436 I know it is for horses but it seem to work on dogs too. |

| Thanks! Her pads didn't feel dry when I touched them, so I couldn't understand why they were peeling but they may be dry sub dermally (I don' know if that's a word, but you know what I mean..haha)
