My Little Man! Donating Member | After two weeks of babysitting Maxi's cousin (Cairn Terrier) I am completely exhausted! It took a lot of discipline to make it work as constant correction of unwanted behavior. She is just so possessive and thinks everything is hers. We call her a big bully. I guess its always harder to watch someone's dog if the dog is set in their own ways and you need to teach the dog certain rules of the house. She grawled at me when she was on the couch and thats a big no no in our house. I had to tell her to move from there and she was no longer allowed on the couch. They were finally eating together but I had to sit in the middle of them. They had to be separated on a different levels of the house when we were not home because I dont trust any dogs that isnt mine. Poor Maxi couldnt play with his toys because she would completely fixate on his toys and dont care about hers. I tried to play with both of them with one toy a tug a war toy and she didnt want to have any part of it because Maxi was playing too. I had to constantly watch them so the other one wouldnt play to harsh she is 20 lbs So in one word she wanted all the attention from us. So I had to quit all the toys and let them play together by themselves at least that way they were bonding. Today she went home and just before my boyfriend was about to drive her home she started screaming bloody murder non stop. I guess she misses us Finally I am here on a normal basis I am wondering does it get stressful sometimes when you have more than one dog? Here are few pics of Maxi and his cousin Maggie when I was babysitting

| I am fostering a 3 yo. female Peke and the first week was the most stressful. Adjustments for everyone but life is settling down.

My Little Man! Donating Member | Yes it was definitely tougher than I thought. I feel like I am on vacation now lol I guess because I had to constantly watch two dogs together and that itself makes it very exhausting after a while.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | its tough watching other people's dogs in your house. their rules are usually different from your rules. i find that watching male yorkies are harder then females. The males always want to mark, neutered or intact. Also, the potty situation is one of the biggest problems. My dog goes outside only and can hold it for 10 hours, probably longer. Pee pad trained dogs usually cannot hold it because they are used to just going whenever they find the need.

| I frequently "babysit" for our grown puppies, and even adding dogs we are familiar with back into the mix is difficult. I remember feeling great when everyone went back to their "forever" homes. It was more work than I ever thought it would be. After all, they were our puppies!
