| Think you had had bad day? Read this! I am out the door ready for our 1st Puppy training with my Yorkie puppy, JAZZI, his goodie bag, etc. Open car door to place him on car seat, only to see numerous tiny pieces of glass all over car seat. I quickly tried to stop motion, of placing him on seat, goodie bag slips forward off my sholder, causing me to loose hold of Jazzi, he bolts out car door and starts running across street, amazing how fast they can fly, thank goodness no cars. I run across street to plead with him in everyway, and of course he thinks it's a game. Jazzi starts running back across street with me close behind. I look up as he was nearing street only to see a Van coming right at him. I tried to pick up my pace to flag Van to stop, only to fall on my face sliding on concrete drive. Looking, and trying to run again, Van was already closer to Jazzi. I watched in horror as he was about one foot away and he pulled up right as Van passed, unaware what almost happened. I finally scooped him up, crying, out of breath, having heart attack moment, and he just starts giving me Yorkie kisses. He thought we just had a playful romp. Cleaned up glass, no time to change clothes that had blood stains, tried to see around smashed windshield, nothing was going to stop me, we really needed training! Arrive breathless at Petsmart, only to be told, Puppy training class was cancelled. No, we're sorry, we should have notified you. I swear I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs ,in the middle of the store a few choice words, you can guess what they were. If I drank, I would have today. I may never leave the house again, at least not without him in carrier, even leash worries me due to stray dogs. I admit I tend to hold him tight in my arms thinking he will be safe. I do keep a carrier in car for him. We just never know what might happen that is not expected. Yes, I feel guilty because they depend on us to protect them. I am now looking for a serious dependable private training. Thanks for listening and maybe story will save someone else from a heart attic Yorkie moment. Any YT members had a close call they will admit to or share stories ? Have a great Yorkie Day! |

| Wow! I'm sorry you had such an aweful day! I would have had a heart attack seeing that van coming! I'm so glad he's okay! Lacy always goes outside on a leash, but there have been a few times that she's gotten away from me (came out of her harness once when she was like 6 months old, leash broke once, and has ran out the door before). Luckily no close calls like you had with a car. They always resulted in me chasing her down though and of course me praying she wouldn't get into the street and get ran over. Her coming out of her harness was at a park...chased her all over the park. Then the leash broke and I chased her down the sidewalk. (both of these were the same harness/leash set...). Then she used to try to bolt out of the house a lot as a puppy/young adult. She's pretty good about not trying that anymore though. Once she got out at my parents' house....they live out in the country on 48 acres (but there is a highway in front of the property). She took off behind the house and behind the pond and started to go into the woods. I had flip flops on and am terrified of snakes...luckily she came out and I was able to catch her.

| Wow, glad everyone is ok. Well, you'll be a little sore, but, at least Jazzi is fine. Yes, we had a day like that. Roxy shot out the front door as I was leaving to go to work. Now, my running days are far behind me, so I yelled for my dtr. She takes off without her shoes, me right behind her. There are kid playing up the street so I figure they will grab her. WRONG! They run after her and she thinks the game is just getting better. She runs faster heading for the main street with alot of traffic. She makes it across the street between the cars, my dtr almost gets hit by 2 different cars. I look both ways and make it across huffing and puffing. Up a hill, thru several yards and across a small field we go. Finally, we get to a cemetary and I trick her by offering her a snack. That was the first time - the second time she squeezed out between the fencing at the school tennis courts and took off towards the stadium. Yes, there was a football game going on. My dtr and her friend are running thru the players and cheerleaders in hot pursuit of Roxy and I am trying to make it to the other entrance of the stadium before she gets there. Too many kids fussing over her - she got sidetracked and stopped to be the center of attention and got caught. Yikes, they are fast little buggers. Remi just walks thru the fence and goes over to the next door neighbors fence and pees on it. That's as far as he will go.

YT Addict | yea here's mine! the ppl that used to live next door to my fiance' had a white german sheppard/wolf/devil dog, and he hated me! he attacked me several times...once while i was standing in jeremy's yard talking to his parents! and another time he chased me across the lawn and about the time i opened jeremy's front door, the dog jumped on my back and helped push me through the door and into their living room....needless to say, me and this dog didnt get along!!! so one day i was going over to jeremy's with odie in hand. i have never used any type of doggy seat or carrier for him, he always just sits in my lap and hangs his head out the window =] so i pull up jeremy's driveway (which has an incline/hill to it) and as soon as i turned the truck off, OUT the window odie jumps!!! my first thought was "omg devil dog from next door is going to get him and then me!" and my second thought was, "CARS!" other than running from the demon dog next door, i dont think i have ever ran soo fast. but odie recognized the tone in my voice real quick like and just ran and bunckered down at jeremys door! he knew he was in serious trouble. but once he realized i was checking him to make sure he wasnt injured from jumping out the truck window he gave me lots of kisses and i couldnt be mean and punish him but he knew what he did was wrong. that was the first and last time he ever jumped out of the vehicle thank god! ok, so who's next!! hehe |

| WOW........ Sounds like a day in my life once a week! The little ones plan these things I SWEAR they do!! I am so glad everything ended up with you telling us this story (but I am sure your poor body does not feel that way). We are on the go constantly here from dance class for 1 daughter, to school for kids and mom, to Peanut’s play dates or grooming appointments and now the BIG thing in the house is ........ PROM! Peanut sits by and just thinks .... “Okay here is what I will do today!” Well today, I had to rescue him because my oldest daughter could have pulled all his teeth out because he just did not like the shoe’s she picked out to wear with her dress! But you are so right about just how much we are responsible for our babies. Glad you shared, not because of your pain (so sorry), but just to know my sitcom of a life is normal! |

| OMG! You DID have a bad day! I have to admit I laughed a little when you said that you fell flat on your face......only because it sounded like something that I would do! I'm glad that Jazzi is okay. You may want to put her on a leash when you're out of the house. My pups sometimes still don't come when I call them.....especially when they see a critter or deer on our property. They will chase them all the way into the woods. I'm glad everything turned out okay!
