| Prayers...I'm so scared... My Lexie is getting spayed tomorrow...and I'm very scared. I have a weird feeling in my heart. I can't stop kissing her...I'm scared. Should I bring a blanket from our house for her? She is sleeping over night... Should I bring some of her food? She sleeps in a t-shirt because it makes her more comfortable, should I bring one for her? I'm so nervous...

| It can be nerve wracking. All the things you asked would probably be good for her so she can be comfortable. Be sure you ask which anesthesia they are using. Isoflurane is supposed to be less risky.

| Aw, poor you! It's so hard to put them through this and yet we know it's best for them. Lexie will be fine - you take a sedative! She will definitely be better for having her blankie with her. The familiar smells will help her rest more comfortably. Prayers going up for you and your little one. |

| I have always had spay/neutered babies come home with me as soon as I can possibly have to come home.. I make them call me the minute they go in for surgery and the moment they come out of it... I insist on this.. I also insist that if all is normal.. they come home.. there are for the most part no one at the vets all night.. so why leave them.. so a vet comes in half way through the night to see if all goes ok.. NOT... I will stay awake all night first.. and have them right with me.. I am praying your baby will do alright.. I know how hard these things can be on us... |
