Donating YT 30K Club Member | Disney Kennels Michiko is in Florida and was thinking of going to one of the Disney parks, possibly Animal Kingdom? and was wondering if anyone had ever used the Disney kennels for their dog while they were at the park? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks

| No, I have never used the Disney Kennels. But it might not be a good idea with all the people stealing yorkies. But, Animal Kingdom is a very fun place. |

| Why would someone steal a Yorkie from a staffed kennel? Sure, I guess it could happen but I think it would be much more likely to happen in someone's backyard or a similar place.

| Yeah, I guess that would never happen. I never thought of that. You're right, someone would have to be pretty dumb to try to steal a yorkie from a highly staffed kennel. |

| Think about it! Here in Houston someone walked into a PetSmart or Petco and took someone's doggie from the grooming area. Have you ever heard of someone taking a newborn human baby from the hospital nursery? All these were highly staffed facilities. THINK ABOUT IT!

| I've never left a dog there, but I went to one a few years ago just to look around and it was a really nice place. But I think everything at Disneyworld is very well-run

| I left my Malts (pre-Peanut) at the Universal one. It was safe, staffed and clean. The man thought I was a complete nut job. I brought in their bed, water bottle, food, toys, favorite snack and a blankie! All they require is their food!

| I think you always take a risk when you leave your dog with anyone. If I was her, I'd just check the kennel out and see how they run it...I'm sure they probably do a good job. I doubt it's like a doggie resort, but I bet they have a clean, well-run facility. I did read somewhere that Disney is supposed to be building a really nice dog resort place for boarding and daycare..not sure when it's going to be done though

| Thanks for the response. I am thinking about leaving her for a day and not overnight. I have never left her with anyone, so I am a bit worried. I probably will step out a couple times to make sure she is okay... I am heading to Orlando from Tallahassee this evening..... If I don't have enough courage to leave Haruka at kennels.. we will have fun at Downtown Disney or somewhere... I bet I find more entertaining places comparing with Tallahassee Tallahassee seems to have a lot of tree and tree and trees! Thanks Patti for posting this!

| I live in Melbourne (an hour East Orlando) I would be happy tp watch your little one for you. Murphy and Mia love house guests ....especially other yorkies. I know that may be the last resort but know I am here if it comes down to it. Have a great time in Orlando - Disney is great, you will love it!

| I heard they were revamping that kennel so they also have like a day spa. My Husband looked into it once and they said you have to come to the kennel once a day at least and walk your dog

| I used the Disney kennels several years ago (like 6 yrs) when I only had one yorkie. I loved them and they gave my Kramer lots of attention. The facilities at that time were very clean and nice. When I used them you could also switch them to whatever park you were at. We had jumper passes so didn't spend a whole day at each park so I would move him to whatever park we were at. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again if we go. I think it was only like $6 / day. Can't beat that price. |
