| Hi Tami - I use a tiny pull-less rubber band to make a top knot, then put a little girl's pony tail band with flower over that. I just put a band in my 7 week old puppy's hair. It didn't stay in long, I am sure her siblings bit it out. Color should be similar to parents if you know what they look like. If she is black and tan, blue and gold? Her whole head may turn gold. I think for beautiful hair, you need to use good food and good shampoo and conditioner, also a spray conditioner for between shampoos.

| Bunny is six months and I am just starting to be able to put her hair up in a topknot. As far as the coloring.. I think the best way to tell is to look at the parents.

| As far as products and grooming goes... I would start grooming now so that she will be used to it as she gets older. I use Plush Puppy Products and LOVE them. They were recommended by my breeder. Their website is www.plushpuppy.net I use the Evening Primrose Shampoo, Silk Protien Conditioner and the Reviva Coat. If you are totally new to Yorkie Grooming, call Monica at Plush Puppy and she will tell you what products are right for your dogs coat. Also don't use a brush with little balls on the end. It breaks the hair. Don't brush a dry coat. For daily grooming get a leave in spray conditioner that you can use before you brush. I use the Reviva Coat for this. As for putting the topknot up, try getting some of those little rubber bands like the dentists use. They won't break the hair like the regular rubber bands. Good luck and always happy to help!

| I use very tiny latex grooming bands in Maggie's hair. They are about the size around as a pencil eraser. Maggie in almost 5 months old and has about a two inch top knot. Her hair started changing when she was about 3 months old. Her head started turing silver, now it's turning gold. I use Chrissy System (www.chrissysystem.com) products on Maggie. Day to Day Shampoo, Day To Day Conditioner and Ice On Ice leave in conditioner.
