Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Our Walk Today.... We went for a walk today (we being Rusty me and tucker) everyone loves the dogs but with tucker it never ceases to amaze me how rude people can be and just do what ever they want with tucker. today on our walk i saw 2 ladies walking a yorkie. we started talking. the one i was talking to was wonderful! she was one of the most knowledeable people i've ever met. because of tucker's small size people always say, "he's a teacup right?" well, this lady was different. she said, " he's probably going to be what about 5 or 6 pounds full grown?" and thats what he is supposed to be. also, a lot of people see a little yorkie puppy, run up and grab him. she didn't even go near him before she asked me. and then even after some people ask they pick them up even if they're told only to pet them. she just bent over pet him and stood back up. so i told her about yorkie talk and she said she'd check it out. just thought i'd share. the world is full of people with no respect, its nice to run into some with manners once in a while. (oh yea she has an older yorkie, 12 years old, he's sooo cute!!) there was a lot more to the conversation but those were the things that stuck out the most!

| You are so lucky. I wish I could meet people like that. It seems like I only meet the ones who ask "is that a teacup" or the ones who try to pick up my dog. I wanna be you...no fair!

| Megan I'm so glad you met some yorkie lovers today. You're a sweet and intelligent young woman and I've not doubt that they were impressed with you and your pups.

| Im glad that you met a Yorkie lover on your walk. I best she was happy in meeitng you too. I know you are only 12, but I think you are very mature for 12. I guess girl mature sooner than boys. I wish my 12 yr old son had 1/2 of your maturity. By the way we love having you here. |

| OMG! I can't believe that you are only 12 Megan. I would have never guessed because you are so well versed and seem very intelligent and knowlegable yourself. But about your thread... I totally agree with you about ignorant people. I took my little Deegan for a walk down to the peir last week, and there were so many people that wanted to stop to see "the cute little puppy". Which I don't mind at all.... as long as they are considerate to both he and I. This one lady asked if she could see him so I said yes and walked him over to her and she bent down to pet him, then proceed to pick him up!!!! I did not like that one bit, so I took him out of her arms and told her that we had to be going and she went on telling me that she had teacup poodles. Which in turn made me more angry. Anyway to make a long story short, from now on when I know people want "to see" my puppy, I pick him up first so they can't.

| I want to get Katia a shirt that says "Yes I'm a yorkie, I'm 2.5 pounds, yes I will get a little bigger, I'm 13 weeks old." People ask the same questions but that doesn't bother me like it used to. I have never been asked if she was a teacup and people always have asked if they could pet her or if their child could put her in their lap. If someone walked over and just started picking her up no telling how nasty I would be to them.

| You are so right about people. This past Saturday, I attended an antique auction. Maggie was the center of attention. If she had of been up for auction, I would have made a mint. This one young person asked to hold Maggie. I told her it's okay to pet her, but not hold her, because Maggie is so wiggly. The young lady just walked away. I don't know why people insist they hold them. If somebody dropped Maggie, she could be badly hurt.

| 12 year old Megan? [Did I miss something? After reading Meagans thread, I got the impression that the women she was conversing with had a "12 year old yorkie"...laughing...too funny... | No you did not miss anything. I thought the same thing as you so I decided to re-read and it did say 12 yr old yrokie, but if you look at Megan's profile, she was born in 1993, which makes her 12 also. I know, confusing. Quote:

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Megan, you constantly amaze me by how responsible you are, not only with your pups but all around..I know for sure that I was not that mature at your age...and to some extend am still probably not today!!! You should be proud of yourself and proud of how your parents rasied you...everytime I read one of your post I have remind myselft that you are only 12, because I constantly forget.... But I know exactly what you mean about finding Yorkie lovers...we are very lucky to have one living right next door...our neighbor has a 2yr Yorkie named Lacy and my girls love to play with her and we just love talking with her and her daughter about all the girls...it is nice to know that there are so good responsible Yorkie lovers out there!!!
