| To Cut or Not to Cut.......... That is the Question! LOL. Do you guys think I should give my little Romeo a haircut for the summer? He's pretty much an inside dog, but does go out a little bit each day and when he does, he sure seems to be getting hot. I thought about getting him a haircut, but I'm worried that it will take a really long time to grow back. How long would it take?

| Lucky you! You are the winner of the first opinion and it happens to come from someone who just loves their babies hair cut short! Seriously, it is entirely up to you. I'd rather see them be comfortable and enjoy the great outdoors and get lots of exercise outside. Mine just loves to go out early in the morning when it's cool. It's been SOOOO hot this whole summer! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Hi Tara - I'd love to see a pic of him...I'd say the hair keeps bugs and stuff OFF them - but also it can be warm for them and short hair is MUCH easier to maintain - IF you decide to cut it - it's a good 3-4 months before you'll see it grow to where it was before ..... If his hair is kind of short now - go for it - in 4 months summer will be over and then he can have his winter hair - lol - I STILL haven't cut Chanel - she is needing a good cut badly - so I know how you feel ... They love having short hair - Romeo will probable be racing around like a greyhound... Now...word up..... if you DO decide to cut it - don't laugh at him Mom lol... ...I laughed at Chanel when she had her first cut...she looked so embarrassed I felt terrible for laughing . |

| I understand you completely! I LOVE Esme's hair long BUT I want her to be comfortable. It is SO HOT here in Miami and I feel bad for her with all that hair... I go back and forth myself... Sorry I don't have an opinion one way or another, but remember to let us know what you decide to do! Also, I'd love to see the pictures! Mari

| I have kept Luigi on the shorter side since we have had him, so I am not one to ask. But my friend has a yorkie and always keeps him long!!! But she decided to give him a short summer cut!!! He looks sooo adorable short!! I wish I had a pic for you! But the thing she did was though was leave his hair around his face and on the top, much much longer!!!! She likes it because he's nice and cool outside now, but still has some hair to brush and play with!!! hehehh!!!!!!!

| Cut it! Esp. since you're in hot Texas, he'll be a lot more comfortable. I keep Otis's hair short in the summer but let it grow out in the winter. I usually stop cutting around October. His hair grows really fast!! That's been my experience. |

| Keeping the hair long or short is really up to you. I keep Bell's hair short, leave her top knot. But Dogs are not like people, as they do not have sweat glands through out their bodies. Their sweat glands are located in the mouth (thats why they pant, to cool down) and inbetween their toes, (why some dogs like to put their feet in water) So shorter hair won't make him cooler, just easier for you, and I like easy!! Bell had her puppies two weeks ago and I shaved her belly, I have since given her two baths, and the puppies are making a mess out of her hair. I think I will have to make it shorter, But she looks like a puppy when its short, and I like that. Remember, it will always grow again. Whatever you do I'm sure he will always look like a little angel

| I've been debating cutting Pixie's hair too.. Tuffy just got a super short summer 'do and I seriously think Pixie is looking at me like, why won't you cut my hair?! I just love her hair so long and since she's such a dream to groom I've been dragging my feet to actually cut it. Are you going to go to a groomer or cut him yourself?

| I can't bear the thought of cutting Baby's hair...I love it like it is. It has taken so long to get this long, and I don't know what I would do if I didn't like it. But you need to do what is going to make both of you happy! |

| I will never get Lily a short cut again. I hated it and she looked like a schnauzer.

| Since you live in Texas and I will recommend you cut it. You dont have to go short short, maybe in the middle. Not to long Not to short and you can live the hair on the head longer. Good luck with your decision. Let us know what you decide and show pics please. Remember hair grows back, . |
