| Can Bob get sick from me? I have some kind of cold or something. Fever and in general feel terrible. If I didnt have a mammo scheduled for today, I would be going to the GP to see whats up. Anywhoo...My question is, can Bob catch a cold from being around me? Of course he is with me at all times when Im home and sleeps with me while Im coughing and sneezing..Can this happen? |

| Good question! I was wondering the same thing. It's hard to be careful when you wake up to your pups tongue in your mouth or up your nose. I've been coming down with a cold, but so far, the pups seem fine. As far as mine go, with all the poop, bugs and who know what else they eat, it doesn't seem that a little cold bug would hurt them. But I would like to know if they can catch an actual cold.

| Getting Sick According to my vet the answer is yes, he says that things as a simple cold can be passed on to my babies just like they can to another person...

| I've always been told they couldn't. My boyfriend and I both had horrible strep throat and Lilly was around us and all over us and she didn't get sick. Someone even asked this question on here not too long ago and everyone said no.

| Ok..Thank you! I havent researched it at all..I thought I would just throw the question out there to you all this morning. I have to leave in a bit to go get this mammogram out of the way and if Im not better by tomorrow A.M. I will go to the Dr's and get some meds. I only got about 3 hrs sleep total last night and every move I made of course Bob was right there. I couldnt sleep so he didnt either. I finally went out to the couch and watched Patch Adams and Bob did too. But I bet right now hes on the back of the couch on his spot sleeping while Im here at work..I bet he is. LOL.. |

| I've heard also that no, they can't catch our cold germs but a warm Yorkie body snuggled up to you when you're sick is probably the BEST medicine!

| The common cold and influenza virus found in humans cannot be transmitted to a dog, and vice versa. Dogs do get colds and ailments similar to influenza; those sicknesses can't be transmitted to humans. |
