| Calling all 2 pounders.... What do you do when you use the frontline/advantage etc. on your little one and only have a small area to put it between the shoulder blades. There is so much in there and it ends up dripping down the sides. Do any of you just throw away the excess? Wonder if you could use half and save half?

| I actually split a tube between two yorkies. You would not BELIEVE the actual dosage you're supposed to put on our teeny guys. My friend had it written down and she buys the largest packs and split one tubeof it between her two poodles, her golden, and her black and tan coonhound. I'll have to get the dosage from her for our guys.

| I like Advantage because it's a smaller weight (I think up to 10lbs) whereas frontline is like 20ish. There is a lot less liquid in that advantage tube. Plus the frontline leaves Lacy all sticky. I don't think you can save half of it..but you could split it between two tiny dogs.

| Darn, guess I will have to get anonther yorkie.... Well I got the Advantage for <10 lbs but still it is so much in the tube. It is a shame I can not put the top on it and save it for next month.

| I agree, you can probably just use half of it. I throw the other half away, but thats just becuase I'll make a mess with it.

| The revolution is what I use(as it's also for heart worms), they have it for puppies and dogs up to 5 lbs). I've never had a problem putting it on..I was told you're never supposed to split the dosage between 2 dogs |

| I use Frontline Plus & split it between the 3 of them. If I have any left I just tape the vial closed and use it next time. I only use it every other or every 3 months. I NEVER use a full vial on one Yorkie.

| I was using Revolution but was never effective killing fleas past 2 weeks. Will be using separate heartworm preventative from now on.

| Well, I used the whole tube but will not from now on....notice that her urine even smelled a bit like it.....guess I should have thought to ask the girl at the vet office. Then again, looks like she would have told me as I told her she was only two pounds.

Therapy Dog Donating Member | My vet only recommends Revolution in the pink container..small vials and only enough for the smaller pups. I never have a problem with it running over. (Izzy is only 2.5 pounds)

Therapy Dog Donating Member | OMG I had a flea problem a long, long time ago and I do not want to go through that again. I also have our yard sprayed for fleas too so knock on wood we didn't have one flea this year....I have 3 cats who are indoor and I don't put Revolution on them just Izzy and we did not have a problem and I hope it stays that way!

| My vet prescribed Revolution as well. I was at my vet and overheard one the people at the front desk saying that they no longer carry Revolution because some dogs become immune to it after using it so many times therefore it can become ineffective. She said that is why they only carry Sentinel. Why then my vet gave my dog Revolution beats me but I figure he is a puppy and has only been applied with it once so I will try it out for a few months more. I did notice that it has lethargic effects. |
