| Louie doesn't like toys?? My little Louie is about 3 years old (we think--he's a rescue, so there's some guesswork happening there), and he won't touch any toys. I am wondering if there is a way to help him like toys. I guess it's no big deal, I just like to spoil him. Any ideas?

| Both of my babies are toy addicts. I did in the past have a chihuahua that wanted nothing to do with toys, so I guess it really depends on the dog. What have you tried so far? Oh & 2 YT! |

| We started with a little squeaky soft dog, and he pays attention to it when we squeak it, but if you put it down near him he just sniffs it and walks away. We also tried a rubber bone with little rawhide discs on it. He LOVES rawhide, but won't touch that thing. I wonder if he had some previous owners who yelled at him if he touched the kid's toys or something.

Give it some time and try what you can. Maybe he'll come around. If not then I hope you'll accept the fact he just doesn't have it for his toys. | |

| My first yorkie did not like toys and we had her since she was a pup. We tried everything to get her interested to no avail. So I think each dog is unique. |

| There are a few on here that don't like toys. I am not sure there is anyway to change their mind. I too think each one is unique. I guess it could have something to do with the previous owners. Not sure. Maybe he wasn't exposed to toys when he was younger? Just a thought. I would give it some time and see what happens.

| Same for me! Sunny, my first, didn't play with any toys. She just wasn't interested. Now Ginger, my second, LOVES toys and can't get enough! It does depend on the dog.

| My (recently adopted) Zeus has little interest in toys and playing. We've only had him 3 weeks so I don't know if this is because he's still settling or if he truly has no interest. I hope it's the first. He loves dogs and people, but is hesitant in playing. He'll just sit and watch us play with the cat, like he doesn't understand. How long have you had your baby?

| We've only had him a few days, so it might just take time. Of course, if he doesn't take to toys it's no big deal, I just want him to be happy with us. He's had a rough time and he's such a good little dog, with lots of love to give! I feel very lucky to have been the person that rescued him!

| My Hope is the same way, I've had her since she was 6 months old and bought her from the breeder... But she's never liked playing. She loves to chew on bones and will "steal" all the bones and put them in her bed, but she never had much interest in toys and playing. In fact the only time I've ever seen her play is with her two pups Bambi and Kayla. She will rough house with them a bit, but it's always very mild. Maybe in time he will play, if not, maybe he will be just the best cuddle bug like my Hope.

| Toys How about 'toys' that include a treat inside or attached to them? One is a ball with holes into which you can put peanut butter or soft treats. Or, as others have said, perhaps your baby just does not like toys. LOL. |

| My Petunia, who is also a rescue that we've only have for 3 days now, doesn't seem to like toys either. I'll keep trying with her. |

| Ditto! My first wanted nothing to do with them. My second, Ginger, is NUTS for toys! I too think it depends on the pup.
