| Hmmm. I haven't been on here for a long time, too bad. I guess you probably already have your pup. Just so you know, no reputable "breeder" breeds mutts! Therefore, you're either buying from a puppy mill or back yard breeder (not that there's any difference). Sorry to be harsh, but this pocket dog, designer mutt trend that has been all the rage lately has to stop!!!! It is ashame. Last edited by Wylie's Mom; 09-27-2008 at 05:34 AM. |

| I am neither uneducated nor unethical tyvm...we didnt end up getting the pup (for other reasons) but I do find the mix of a yorkie/maltese a nice mix and there are many people here on YT with Morkies who not uneducated or unethical people. Mutts have been around for ages and ages...alot of purebred we have today started out because of mixed breeding. I cant count all the dogs I have known in my lifetime that were "mutts" and lived LONG, HEALTHY lives...with RESPONSIBLE pet owners. I have adopted from the humane society in the past and owned many a loveable and healthy mutt. In fact the love of my life Darla is a yorkie/bichon and perfectly healthy and happy and well taken care of as are her brothers and sisters. The 'ahole' you talk of isnt a puppy mill..just a wonderful lady with a wonderful yorkie and maltese. She doesnt run a mill or reproduce puppy after puppy. She finds loving homes for her pups and getting one isnt as easy as walking in with a pocket full of money, she actually does a full fledged interview and will turn down someone she doesnt feel suits one of her pups. As long as there are dogs in this world there will be mutts sorry to say. No I do not agree with mills or people breeding for profit many times a year...far from it. So sorry you feel this way....but this is how I feel...so relax and enjoy your day.. Dawn |

| YorkieDork, if you're going to call someone uneducated and make a post like that, it really holds no weight. Personally, I disagree with your views on mixed breeding and your definition of a reputable breeder. (Unfortunately, I lack the desire to explain my position here... I suspect the explanation would fall on deaf ears in your case.) I too, am saddened by the prevalence of puppy mill operations, but hopefully you'll realize in time that being so aggressive, in most cases, will just tick your target off and do little else... besides waste your time. By the way, I'm yet another well-educated "morkie" owner and believe my ethical standards are much higher than the average Canadian's. I've bumped into many morkie owners on the internet that I would say the same about. Dawn, good luck on your yorkie x maltese mix search if it continues on! Cheers, Anne

I guess your the one who is uneducated here!! Yorkies used to weigh 17 lbs in the early 1900's. They were noted for being varmin hunters. The Maltese Breed has already been incorperated into the Yorkie Breed!! This was to down size the dogs for a smaller breed, Just as the in corperated the maltese with the Poodle breed in the early 1900's. Your the Dork here!! lol Last edited by Wylie's Mom; 09-27-2008 at 05:34 AM. | |
