| I was the orignal post. She does have a kennel. We are driving out there so I will be able to see exactly where they have them. I have spoken with several people that have Yorkies from her. I have two people that went back and got another puppy from her. We plan to take her to the vet the same day we get her...before we head home. She said that they are very social and from what I have researched about her...she was not lying. |

| Rocky's Dad I know that you will find them to be outstanding breeders. They love the yorkies just as much as we do. Shirley kept Rocky for an additional 3 weeks because he was so small. We visited him and wanted to bring him home but we also knew that Shirley was taking very good care of him. We took him back for a visit with Ron and Shirley. I have been looking at a small female that they have. Would love to get her but we have Rocky and a 13 year old Yorkie/poodle mix. I am sure that you will be happy with the Bovays |

| Just a quick correction in Rocky's Dad's post. USDA only requires licensure if you breed more than 3 dogs (your statement) AND if you sell wholesale to such firms as those that supply animals to retailers such as pet shops..Hunte corp is one of the larger brokers and that name can be found on a lot of the paperwork of USDA licensed breeders and puppies that are bought in the pet stores...I do wonder where all of those other puppies that were listed were housed.. Anybody know that answer?? This isnfo is just my understanding and anyone certainly can correct me if I am wromg.. |

| Shirley has a huge plot of land in MO. I saw a picture of it on Google Earth. She has a kennel behind her house that has central air and heat just like her house. The people that have adopted her puppies have told me it is incredibly clean and taken care of. Her husband retired from teaching to take care of the animals full time. She does not sell puppies to a pet store. She finds each and everyone a home. They fell into breeding because of their love for Yorkies. I know most of you can relate. They only breed Yorkies and yes they have a lot of them. But, this is a huge family affair. Their grandkids are involved in showing the animals...the grandmother has a small business making clothes, harness and bows. This is hardly a family just in it for the money. They truly love taking care of the animals themselves. I researched EXTENSIVELY and I have spoken with over ten owners in lentgh from across the country and not one person has a single bad word to say about these people. They are sweet folk that are huge animal lovers. Everyone who has a puppy from them says that they are extremely socialized and they have had no health issues to speak of. I understand being cautious since there are soooooo many bad breeders in this world....but as we all know you can spot them from a mile away. I must say the overall judgemental additude and negativity I have experienced on YT makes me want to leave the site. It is not helpful to bash good people. And it takes a responsible person to research and find out if that person is into breeding for the right reasons. Fantasy yorkies exsist out of love for the yorkie as does Yorkietalk. There are several members on this site with puppies from her and they would say the same. I know this because I have spoken with them too. I have no connection to Shirley...as I live 900 miles away. I am driving 12 hours tomorrow to go get the puppy I chose over 7 weeks ago because I discovered through research she was the best in my opinion. This past 7 weeks has been a hard wait, but Shirley being a caring breeder has updated me every week with pictures and health info...such as her weight and eating habits. I have complete confidence in my decision. And I will recommend Shirley and Ron to anyone that wants to hear about them.

| Were are these show titles listed?? Help. Yeah, something's fishy. I'm sure you'll have no problems w/ the puppy, or at least history shows that your odds are good to have a happy, well adjusted puppy. If this kennel really is a "family affair" my one question-and this is not an attack, but a legitamate question is: If the whole family is responsible in caring for/socializing/breed and SHOWING these dogs, why can't I find any of these dogs on-line w/ ANY kennel club winning ANYTHING? (Conformation/Obedience/Tracking/Agility...something, but I've found nothing) There's gotta be something out there in a positive light on this breeder if they are really that good. Just point me in the right direction, I know someone interested in this kennel (not me-I went the difficult route and purchased my puppy from Hungary!). Thank You! ~Leslie |

| What about prices I looked at her yorkies too but never could get a response by email of what sort of price range she had and that would totally determine my interest. I ended up getting a beautiful puppy from someone closer. I do wish that they would have responded to my emails though. I love their dogs and their website. |

| i am learning alot here but my main concern are the females being bred. are they getting pregnant everytime they are in season? if so, i would think that is very hard on a yorkie's body since they are so small. i am sure the puppies are fine but what about the mothers and also, when the mothers cannot have puppies anymore, what happens to them??

That is really odd. Shirley responded to my first email the same day...and I sent a lot of emails in the 6 weeks I waited. She answered them all within an adequate time frame (or she called). I paid 1200.00 for my little girl. She was 10 weeks old and 2.6lbs. She is doing great!

| Wow, big girl. I hope you're enjoying her. In either case, I still can't find out anything positive on this breeder (everything negative about her is just based on what she says or her website). Her behaviour is quite odd. She hasn't responded to any of my e-mails (2) either (just an inquiry of what she had available). $1,200 is an interesting price for someone of her calibre. Do you mind me asking who the mother and father are of your puppy? I'm curious just to see so I can find more info. about where she's getting her dogs and what health problems lye in the lineage, if any. Thanks in advance. |

Big girl? According to the vet and the toy breed chart she is going to be 5-6 lbs (standard). I guess you would hate to hear how big our little boy is! He is now 3.9 at 13 weeks. We wanted the biggest in the litter. IMO the little guys under 4 lbs almost barely stand a chance in this world. This breed used to be over 10 lbs. I see nothing wrong with her size. I guess I don't like your choice of words.... someone of her "calibre"? She states on the front page of her website that she only breeds for the love of the animal...and she only breeds PETS. She does not sell them to be show dogs...and never states otherwise. I searched around quite a bit and thought any dog over 1500.00 was extremely unreasonable for a family pet. I didn't spend that much to have both of my children in a hospital. I am just telling you what I saw with my own eyes. I met a family that love animals. Simple as that. It was clean and well taken care of. All the animals were in top form. Every body was groomed and bathed. She is a loving person that breed to very social and lovable puppies. I think we are looking for completely different things. Perhaps she is not the right breeder for your friend...but she was for me. The dogs are amazing in every aspect in OUR eyes. I know she is not a puppy mill and in my opinion she is not a "backyard breeder". I know her heart is where it should be. And yes we enjoy them both very much. Good luck researching. I hope you find what you are looking for.

I have only been a member since Jan...and the negativity has been really getting to me. It seems like everyone attacks because they just assume the worst.

| I am soo glad you got a Yorkie!! Or lets say 2!! I am a newbe and am seeing that everyone on here is getting tooo....ugh what is the word?? I think you chose the right place in your opinion to purchase your yorkie, you saw that it was a nice clean place with trusting people and you did homework by researching -talking to others who have gotten a pup from this place before. I think you did good. That really is all that matters. It feels like people are criticizing your judgement which they may or may not be doing and they just want some answers for themselves but maybe the lady is only selling pet yorkies like you stated so they are not show quality and blah blah blah so you knew that and was fine with that. That is great. I accidentally got my pup at a pet store. Terrible I know, ( I know better now) but I am hoping she came from a breeder like this maybe or someone who just is not selling show dogs? My dog Lucy is happy, healthy, goodlooking and is now 3yrs old...As for everyone else who is researching Fantasy yorkies that is fine too if you find the fishyness etc but just post as FYI because people already have a fine pup from them.
