my horrific experience with yorkiekiss..breeder/broker

First I want to apologize for the length of this post.. I just cannot condense it any better... thanks for understanding..

I bought a dog from this breeder, Deana Junk at www.yorkiekiss.com. She told me she had a friend in Brazil whom she had known for years, and since she was Brazilian born this breeder was her mentor and co breeder.

Many people have mentors...she told me that once in a while, but not often, she ships in a Yorkie from her mentor who lives in Brazil. I kept in touch with her for approximately three months before I actually purchased a girl from her. Deanna sent me a paypal invoice for the amount of 2,200.00. I have a copy of the paypal request from her, I also have a copy of my receipt that I indeed paid that amount. I got my girl on July 26th. She was actually on the plane when I got a message from Deanna saying I better get to sleep as she knew I had a 4 hour drive to the airport, puppy was arriving at 7 a.m so in 10 hours she was to arrive.. I sent my hubby directly to bed as we had to leave at 3 a.m. for the drive to the airport. I still had to print all the paperwork that I would need to pick up our girl. I was shocked that she was on the plane prior to her letting me know...what would have happened if we had gone out of town to see our daughter or for whatever reason?? Thankfully, my puppy arrived safely, in a clean crate, bows in hair...what a darling she was.

With that said, she arrived without her protocol. (This is a copy that says the dog has been registered in my name, it has the name I picked for the dog, her registration number and the breeders name also.) In Brazil that paper is to go with puppy. Deanna had her breeder send her this paper so she has control whether or not you get it in the end. I had not received mine.

I had my girl about a month and Deanna came onto my msn and told me she had a boy. I was not actually looking at that moment in time, but I did say I was going away for 5 days and did she have a picture of him. She said no, but go and I will show you in 5 days, when you return.
When I got home and turned on my computer an msn message popped up with her saying she sold the boy. I questioned that, as I thought, why tell me then sell him?

She did not like being questioned. She got very upset with me. But then had the nerve to go on and on about how her breeder found him just for a perfect match with my girl, and how she had to get him from another breeder for the just the right match. Then, to add salt to the wound, she told me how adorable he was and how perfect and so on and so on. Again I questioned this. I could not understand if this dog was found, and was found to be a perfect match for my girl, and she made it sound like it was a bit of work on her mentor's part looking for me...why on earth would she sell him? I did not understand this at all.

She knew I was upset and then said to me well buy him right now!!! Ah duh, she just said he was sold, now I can buy him right now with no picture or anything about him? I told her I felt I was at an auction, higher bidder gets him.. Well that pissed her off! (her words)

She then sent me a message on my face book, oh yes she meets people and then wants to add them to her face book, telling me she is upset with me and will not look for a male for me.. I went back saying one word...OK...yet she then came back with more. She stated although she was pissed off with me, she would still send my girls papers to me...when indeed the breeder that had my address from shipping the dog could have sent them directly to me. Again having the papers sent to deanna gives her a feeling of control which she obviously needs desperately.

I left the situation be. I was not going to argue with this girl any longer.

In a few days I receive an email from someone named "Carla", asking me about my Brazilian girl, and who I got her from. She said that she saw her on my internet site. My website was not advertised on the internet (only my friends, family and Deana knew about my website) so I knew just who Carla really was. Also, she didnt notice that, although she used an alternate email address, her real name appeared on the email, in my inbox. I replied to her and told her I was not about to play these games and that I knew it was her...she came back with some back peddling excuses about wanting to keep me on my toes to see if I knew it was really her...5 minutes later, she pops up on my msn and her first message was if I wanted my papers I would have to pay her another $200.00 - as I owed her $100.00 (apparently people who sell and use paypal they pay a fee, she decided after the fact that I would pay that fee), and then she said $100.00 dollars for papers...which was to be included in the price for with the dog.

I also want to add that I paid $2,200.00 and have since discovered that her co breeder and others sell their yorkies for $750.00 for girls and $550.00 for boys.. she also claim's she does not make money, but her co breeder sends her gifts...these gifts are two yorkies at a time for her to sell. She told me she gets $3,000.00 each for them...and gets "gifts" quite often. Since joining YT, I have discovered she is what everyone calls a broker..she is in it for the money only, and from what happened to me, she needs control and brags about controlling her co breeder as in she prices the dogs that are being sold. She has the protocol and the pedigree shipped to her, rather than the new owner...another control issue.

Deanna played with my emotions, I had to block her from my facebook, had to block her from my msn, I had to change email address.. and cancel my website.

I did get my girls papers, and it took me from September to now. I have saved what she put on my facebook, I saved the msn conversation where she laughs at me, figuring I would not get my papers...she did not know me very well, for I was not going to allow a 21 year old call me nasty names, laugh at me...prey on me, and harass me.

I have my copy of her invoice requesting money. I have my copy of my paying her what she asked, I have saved the facebook comments, I have saved the bogus email...they all have a time stamp on them.

If Deanna Junk has done this to me, I know she has done it to others. And the final insult? When I received my little girl, I sent her a picture of me holding her, smiling away like any happy new parent. I have since lost this picture, and she has put it up on her website, with her watermark plastered all over it, making it looks like I am just another happy purchaser of one of her yorkies...amazing how she makes sure no one can steal her pictures from her site, but she has not problem with steeling from others..

I am writing this from my heart. I need to let it be known that I am not out for revenge, I just hope that by posting my experiences with her, that someone else will read this and not go through with her, what I did. There are so many great breeders out there that are not in it for just the money, as she so clearly is.

She sure sounds like a broker to me and I wonder how many of those puppies on her site she really breed herself. The word need to get out about her,thanks for sharing your story in hopes in will help others.

Thanks for your post, She has joined here yes. This is why I have kept my identity silent for the most part. I am hoping others with bad experience will also tell us.

Well I have her on msn laughing at me when I told her she could not do this to me, she litterly laughed at me going ha ha ha.. told me she did not care I was an old lady.. it was a nightmare that night.. she said, "I will tell the breeder your coming to Brazil, I will let her know to expect you.". What she did not know was she was the last time, I was taking that behaviour from a breeder. So yes it took months, but I went straight to Brazil kennel club and yes I got my paper's.. and this time, she was lucky she did not put this breeder out of business.. anne/pooh's mum

You asked if she breeds them all her self...What she does is sells you a female, for say 1500.00 to 3000.00 and then gets you to bring the dog back and she breeds the dogs. And keeps the dogs at her home until they have been born, and then she sells them. What goes on between her and the owners I don't know. She doesn't keep all the dogs in her home, she gets them to stay at other peoples homes until she needs to breed them. But she is a very nasty woman, who gets her kicks at putting others down to make her self look better.
I was on a few MSN groups with her, where she would purposely knock me down, because my female is not reg'd and my male is. She told me that My dogs are garbage, because I do not charge 1500.00 plus for my dogs. I sell my pups for $500.00 to $600.00, solely for pet, not stock, nor show. My Peeka is 5 lbs, and so is Emerald. I could have reg'd Emerald but was not given her papers, anyways she kept slamming me telling me that my pups would land in the shelters because of the prices I sell them for. I had to stand up and defend my self, that my pups and dogs were very healthy. I go to the vets on a regular basis, they are all looked after and loved and spoiled, to a fault. Even my vet thinking I go over board on looking after them. She told me that Brazil yorkies are the only yorkies to have and the other yorkies are all ugly etc.. Well every one to there own opinions right?
This was brought to the managers attention and was asked to apologize and she would not... whatever...
now I run a home business with another friend of mine, we make dog clothes, belly bands, diapers, blankets, etc... and I use the kijiji site. When I started to use the site I used the alberta site not knowing this was a nono....I live in Saskatchewan. She went looking, and emailed me twice, using 2 different emails, asking for prices etc. and maybe in a matter of minutes I was shut down. Now why would she do that other than to be vicious, or maybe jealous?
In the msn site I was on, she went after another member, and was asked to leave the site. She is a very nasty lady and needs to be stepped on. And if you tell her you are going to say something about the way she does things, she threatens you, she will get even.....................There are witnesses to her putting me and others down.

Wow, I just read all of this. Looked at her website & her "mentor's" website -- funny thing they have a lot of the same pictures -- including they both have a picture of a woman (and I think it's you Anne) holding the cutest little yorkie girl up in front of her face. Now how is it that they both happen to have either the same pictures or the same people wearing the same clothes, but in different positions holding the same dogs??? Very fishy & definitely speaks to breeder-broker situation

Does this girl breed any of her own or is that all made up on her website too?

It is very bittersweet reading this thread. I dont know if you remember or not, but when I first joined YT, I asked about this breeder. It was your warning that made me question whether or not I wanted one of Deana's puppies. I had no idea that you went through all of this with her...you did let me know that you couldnt elaborate because of some issues you had yet to iron out...I'm so sorry that Deana put you through all of this.

It is because of you that I didnt give her a deposit. It is because of you that I didnt support a broker (whether or not my would have been puppy was imported or not, she's a broker). It is because of you that I ask as many questions as I do....and from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

People like this need to be shut down. Have you been to her website? Please do... www.yorkiekiss.com. She comes across as someone who loves her dogs, but I see now that her dogs are a commodity. They bring her money.

This thread is bittersweet because of what I almost got involved in, because of what you went through Anne, and hopefully this warning will hopefully not fall on deaf ears (eyes, lol).

I'm so happy that your puppy is healthy and in a good home and I am thrilled for you that you got your papers.

I want to thank you all for posting. I have waited so many many months now.. since before I joined YT.. needing to be able to post with honesty and be able to be really me.. I was robbed of my being able to introduce myself as who I am and what my dogs names are..

Now when I digest all of the support.. I will be able to say. hey, I think I am a newbie.

From the bottom of my heart.. this has been the best day since my Maravilhosa arrived to me.. I can now say her name on YT and it feels so good. she threatened me saying if I spoke up, she would ruin me as a breeder as she had lots of contacts. So I waited, and now was the right time for me

Her name is pronounced Mara vil hosa.. means marvelous in Portuguese.
