| I'm kind of new to this... So my boyfriend got me this wonderful baby who is just the sweetest thing ever. Anyway, he's 7 months now and is "loving strong" his stuffed animals. He's a certified purebred (I have all the papers), is disease free, and has had all of his shots. So what is the right age to stud a dog, and how much should I charge? He has just such a wonderful disposition and temperament, I think he'd be a good candidate, and I think he'd enjoy it. |

| A male's sperm is not fully mature until he is about a year old. If you stud any earlier, then you take a chance of no puppies or deformed puppies. If I were you, I would do a lot of research before even thinking of studding him out. You need to educate yourself about breeding. You said he is disease free. Have you have him test for all the genetic problems these little guys can have. That requires rigerous testing and bloodwork. Have you researched his pedigree for any faults in his bloodline on both sides? |
