I'm planning on getting a yorkie this spring. Does anyone know of a good breeder in colorado?

Is there such a think as a good breeder in the newspaper?? I did go to the AKC website and they had a link to the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America. I pulled off the names in Colorado. There's one in my town, that I want to visit.
I hear to stay away from breeders that say babydoll faces...true?

i don't know if that is a bad sign or not. The puppy I just sold had a teddy bear face or baby doll whatever. But it is the only way I knew how to describe her and from the pictures of some others, she had the look. Little button nose and beautiful eyes

You can check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website, they list reputable breeder by state or AKC web site. Good Luck!

Well... You're already off to a good start. I'd check with the YTCA members before expanding your search. I'm sure one of them has a litter coming up or knows of someone else who has available pups.

ETA: I'd stay away from newspaper and internet ads until you've TOTALLY exhausted all other avenues. There's too many millers selling their dogs that way... Not to mention all the scams.

I am in Colorado, and both the breeders I got my dogs from are in Colorado. We all three live on the western slope. We are all three respectable, honest breeders. Let me know if you would like any information on myself or the other two breeders.

Oh good...I always feel like I'm the only one from CO. I would like more info about you and the two other breeders. Websites are easiest for me, if possible.

Mine is Shaila Blue Yorkies, my friend who I bought 3 of my yorkies from is DJ's Heavenly yorkies. I am redoing her website and if you type in jfdyorkies.com you can see pictures of her puppies but her sires and dams arent on there yet. She is a memeber here under the name of DonnaJean. The other lady lives in Palisade, Co. Her name is Roni Hale. I bought my first yorkie from her. She doesnt have a website I dont think. Hope that helps
