Nina just had another puppy this morning! The vet assured me that she had no placenta and this morning, surprise!!

Is this normal? I am going to take her to the vet for an x-ray but I just wanted to hear from you if you have ever experienced this. The puppy is alive but it's very small and weak.

WOW!! I bet that was a surprise. I would get her to the vet as soon as possible and make sure nothing is left. Hope this tiny one pulls through alright. Please keep us informed.

Unfortunately we just lost this little girl...

Oh so sorry to hear that you losyt her. But WOW 8 puppies. Is that some sort of record. I believe the last record on here was 7.

Didnt you say your took her to the vet for an OXI shot for retained placenta??? and didnt your vet say there was nothing left and the shot wasnt needed???

Oh I would be fuming and fussing at the vet!!!

If your vet didn't find it before why in the world would you take her back again, I would be looking for a new vet. Sorry you lost the little girl and I hope all the rest will thrive for you. Congratulations on the new family!!

i am so sorry you lost your little girl. I would find another vet to go to and have the mama checked. She could have an infection from this delayed birth. Congratulations on your litter.

Thank you for all of the support. I did take her to a different vet. He gave her a precautionary Oxi shot and took x-rays. She is doing great and the puppies are growing. Just one little guys is a bit small but we are doing the best to give him plenty of teat time!
