| Question about eye rim? Hi there, I have a question about the color of a Yorkies eye rim. I hear that they are typically supposed to be blk rim but I have seen like the "Chocolate Yorkies" with flesh tone rims and I know that is a default trait but what about a standard Yorkie with light eye rims? Is this a genetic default? Is this bad to have? Is it a problem to have it in pups gene pool? Just wondering. Thanks! Posted it in this section because it was gettin no response..

| I'm not sure but I think it is a default. A yorkie is suppose to have black eye rims.

| eyes Most lighter coated Yorks tend to have lighter pigment...you can see this on the pads of the feet sometimes...you want dark pigment. Chocolate is a fault..doesn't matter about eye rim color...anything non standard is a fault...but cute! |

| so basically.. So basically any yorkie even one with standard colors like blue/tan or Blk and gold with light eye rims is not standard..and you wouldn't want puppies from this kind of dog...right? ( as far as standards go) I knew it was a fault in the more obvious colors like a choco yorkie but I have not really seen this on a standard color yorkie...is this common?? Thanks all for answering my curious questions!!

| eyes If the pigmentis too light, breed to improve it with a dog who has good black pigment...all dogs have faults, pick the fault you can live with...BUT if it is like some Maltese I see and there is NO pigment, then I think that is a serious fault..but light pigment is minor. |
