Donating YT 4000 Club Member | OH, I think Miss Delilah is PREGNANT... for a few days now she's been refusing either her dinner or her breakfast, with her mama that was a sure telling sign that she was pregnant, I think it will be the same with her daughter..she is also super clingy with me, I can' t even go to the bathroom without her wanting to go right along... she has a Vet appt. on saturday for palpate to see if she is.. hugs, |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | thank you, yes is very exicting for me she is my first girl to get Artificially Insiminated, and I was so nervous thinking that after I spent all that money it was not going to take. This has been nerve wreacking for me, every move and little sign she makes I am watching like a hawk.. hubby said I am getting obsessive over this pregnancy.. hugs, |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | No, I always had my own stud, but I retired him, besides my stud is her daddy, and Delilah is already 2.5 so I wanted to breed her, the only option was to rent a stud, which it was none close to me or work with a Repro Vet and get her AI, so I opted for the AI.. it was a tidius process by checking her progesterone levels and so on, and on the right day they did the process, I had the lady ship the semen fresh chilled straight to the vet and they did the procedure. and I been a nervous wreck since.. hugs, |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Oh Carmen I do so hope so. I've only observed and AI done. Never personally had it done on one of my females. But more and more with our big Blackies most breeders are moving to AI. It is just so much safer for the stud and bitch.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Gemy is quite an interesting process, very expensive but I think is worth every penny. nerver wrecking if you are a beginer like me, I was on the phone with the girls at the vet every day since Delilah came into heat..LOL I think they fell sorry for me and my nerves... here's a picture of Delilah today.. I could have chosen a sonogram but i did no want to spend that kind of money yet, so I am taking her to my Dr. Holland she is super good on palpating she always did my other girls and so far been right on the money and then later on we will go for x rays.. here's the link to the picture... http://www.pbase.com/stonehillsilky/image/145551209/medium.jpg |

| Seen it and assisted with it done both ways with horses... AI is definitely way easier and so much safer! Good Luck! If not, do they give a reduced rate to repeat it? (just curious)

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | thank you ladies so far she is about 22 days pregnant. and really I never asked about repeat if it not take, the girls kept telling me that with chilled fresh semen is always an 85 to 90% chance it will be suscessful, the rest is on how good the semen is , so I asked the vet and he told me it was good.. and someone told me that meant they were swimming fast.. I am reading LOts and asking LOts of question in the breeders groups and to my mentors.. hugs, |
