| a question I was wondering if a dog's behavior changes when you stud them out?

| stud It can, it is a chance you take...many get very macho and mark, some will fight with other males. If I had a nice, well behaved pet male I would not take the gamble..good luck |

| More often than not they do... Once is all it takes so don't kid yourself that he needs to do this unless you plan to be a serious breeder and have an exceptional male that you no longer expect to behave like a pet. |

| Most males do change in their behavior, but not all do. The stud I used for my female didn't. His owners were concerned that he would start marking and become more dominant, especially to their older female. He has never marked their home, nor has he become mucho. We didn't stud at his house though, we met in a neutral place. Good luck with your choice.

| I meant to add in that if you have a female that is still able to come into heat, than your chances of him marking your home is great, even if you are only studing him out.

| Definitely made a difference with my toy poodle years ago. Used him once because in our area red toy poodles are hard to find and someone wanted to use him with their red female. If I'd known that he was going to start marking everywhere I wouldn't have done it. Even knowing I wouldn't get to see those 4 precious red toy poodle pups that he produced! It was so frustrating. It didn't change his laid back personality but he did start marking in the house. Be really sure you want to take that chance before you stud him out.
