| Questions: X-rays, thermometer, etc. 1) Puppies are due Tuesday. The doctor said 4, maybe 5. Curious as to what you all see? Today is day 59. 2) Also, I am having a heck of a time do rectal thermometer. The first day I felt it was it accurate, then yesterday and today I am getting 98.6-99.0, however, at the Vet yesterday they got a 100.5. I went out and bought another thermometer just in case my first one was defective. The vet suggested I may be getting poop. Good grief, taking my kids temp was easier! LOL 3) Also, I have heard that Dams don't like to leave their pups the first week and I will need to feed her there. Do Dams leave to go to the bathroom? Do I encourage her to go? Thanks for all your input, I am so thankful for this message board, it's been wonderful to read, I have saved so many posts...great info. X-rays did not upload, I will post them in my album.

1. Good Luck....day 59, I always hope they cook at least until day 62 or 63 of first breeding. Gives them more chance too cook. 2. Thermometer's can be tricky....let me state that another way. The dam's temp can be a bit tricky and how you take their temp. Yep! how you insert it can contact with fecal matter and give you different readings. I don't take temps. Mother Nature is going to be Mother Nature. That being said the temp has to remain down for a minimum of 12 hours....so, you're bugging her taking that temp everytime you turn around. 3. Yes, she will be reluctant to eat, however, if she is having 5 it'll be up to you to take her food and water to her....And, have piddle pads close by where you can take her to potty....you don't want her going outside anyway. You're compromising her as well as the pups. Either way everytime she goes potty you'll have to make sure her breasts, privates and feet are clean before putting her back with pups.
