| Normal behavior for new mom? Hi there, My female had her first litter of 4 puppies on Monday. They are all doing well now The tiniest male when born was not very active, had a hard time nursing and staying warm so I had to jump in and help quite a bit with that little guy. He seems to be doing fine now, though. My question is regarding mom...she has been very attentive, and is taking good care of the pups, she is eating and drinking well. Today though, she keeps acting a bit nervous(not normal behavior for her pre-pregnancy)and keeps looking in my closet, under the bed, or behind my husbands night stand. Is that normal behavior? Is she not comfortable? I didn't completely close off the area she has with the puppies. But could it have stressed her out that I had to handle that little guy and now she wants to hide them? |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Do you have her pups in a nice quite place? Try to give her alot of privacy. I keep mine away from everyone in a nice quite place. Some also like it to be a little dark. If she is a first time mom they get a little more nervous. You might try to remove everything in the closet and put them in there. They like to be hidden.
