Yorkie Yakker | Yorkie due today hey my yorkie Daisy is due today and i was wondering if anyone had any advice on what to look for? Her temp has been up and down since tuesday in the mornings it will be 98.9 and then by afternoon it will be back up to 101. So are there any other signs to look for. Also what time of day do yorkies usually have their puppies? Any advice would be great. I'm so scared. Thanks |

| The temp is okay. When my Ellie had puppies, she rested in her whelping box all day and then went into labor that night.

| Wow...did you ever wait a little too long to try get your info on this! Basically, you need to make sure she has a quiet, calm place set aside to whelp. Look for signs that she is restless, that there is a change in her appetite, etc. She may start "nesting" and rearranging her bedding, she may become very clingy to your, or extremely reclusive. There are so many small behavioral traits that *could* indicate impending labor, but basically it's going to boil down to how well you know your female and how observant you are with changes in her behavior. |

Yorkie Yakker | no i have been researching about labor but about everything you read talks about their temp will drop and hers drops in the morning and then goes back up by afternoon. Just wanted some other input from breeders. Thanks for the advice |

| Yeah, we are close to each other. I work in Fort Mill, so that's not far at all. I finally gave up on the temp thing because it was stressing her too much. Every time she saw the therm she would run.

| I saw on Debbie Jensen's website that there appears to be a spike in temp before the drop in temp. |

| Hey there! Good luck and hope you are staying saner than I am! I dont know if it is helpful but I have been trying to keep a log on the posting "Circle of Life" You are welcome to see if any of it is helpfull to you in figureing out what is going on. I am hoping it will come in handy the next time round! IF there is a next time. This is worse than when I had my real kids, and I had to deliver my second child by myself!!! Let us know how things go. I use a digital ear thermometer and Tiff doesnt mind it at all. That way updates arent hard to do or stressfull. Remember to breathe! |

| So, what's going on now? Have you decided what you're going to do as far as the c-section goes, that is if you have to have it done? Hope everything is well. |
