I'm a breeder but small scale. Just took my Gracie to Paula's today (she is also a YT member that has puppies 4-5 weeks old) to get bred. Very excited with this breeding and I'll be keeping the females to build up my stock. I'm fairly new to yorkies but not the breeding world. There are many breeders here with a lot more experience and I have the upmost respect for them.

I highly recommend Paula...paulathegroomer. I recommend her to everyone that is looking for a yorkie. Beth...b_veselka...uses Paula's studs. There are a few YT members that have bought dogs from Beth who the daddy is Paula's Tyson. pm me if you're interested and I can give you her contact information. Paula use to breed show poodles but switched to yorkies over 30 years ago. She has 48 years of breeding experience.

Hi Lenora~

Do you know exactly what you want? I found out that really pinpointing my priorities helped me in my search. I actually wrote it all down so I knew I wouldn't be tempted to buy on impulse when I saw the first cute puppy.

I read a book recently on picking the right puppy and it advised the same thing. It would even be helpful if there is a "look" you like to have photos of dogs you have seen with that look.

Of course you want a healthy dog from a good breeder so that is a given, but from there yorkies vary so much. What coloring do you prefer, what coat texture, what temperament, what size, floppy ears, straight ears, big/little eyes, short and compact or long and skinny, long/short snout.

Different breeders breed FOR different "looks". There are lots of YT breeders and some are similar in their philosophies and some are different. PM if you wnat my opinion for what its worth.

Good luck and have fun in your search!

Browniesmom you wont regret taking your time and searching for just the right yorkie. I have a 4lb female and she has the small facial features and she is so cute. I just love dressing her up she looks like a little doll. I am sure you can find a breeder on here that you can get what your looking for.

If it's any consolation, Paula's dogs are very compact. Short bodied, short to the ground and massive coats and squishy faces. That is why I decided to use one of her studs. I know that the pups will be gorgeous!!!
