| What type of a PRESENT would YOU LIKE? I have become good acquaintances with my breeder. She, like many good show breeders, doesn’t breed all that often. However, now she will be having 3 litters in three months (the first was born two days ago). I wanted to get her a little something. Do any of breeders have any ideas on what a good “baby present” for great breeder would be? |

Yes, we go to the same vet and such. As nice as I am, also want her to mentor me when the time comes That was a great suggestion! Thanks (but keep them coming please)! | |

| I agree, I think a basket with some supplies and a gift card for her pet store or vet would be great. Maybe look around if and when you are over her house next and see what she may need but not buy! Like a new gate, dog bed(s), leash...

--Baby receiving blankets are always handy. I go through a LOT of them trying to always keep clean blankets in their bed. Then I will send one home with each puppy. --Tiny toys are a must -- they love to play -- baby teething toys are good for puppies too. --Maybe some stick-on bows they make for newborn babies for puppy pictures. --A couple of cans of goat's milk and a puppy baby bottle. --For a basket, you could get one of those puppy feeders (I bought this one PetEdge: ProSelect Stainless Steel Puppy Feeder Bowls although mine are a little small for it still). Then wrap the whole package with cellophane wrap like an Easter basket. -- If you don't go the basket route, might think about a small height exercise pen. I am going to get one of the 11" pens made for hamsters/rabbits/etc. to use for showing the puppies to prospective owners. That way we can all get down on the floor to interact with the puppies without them wondering off. It will be easier to see them that way than in the 3 ft high play yard I have them in now. -- One of the snuggle kittys now offered by aquinn in the for sale forum. They have a heartbeat and a heat source to provide security and comfort to young puppies. --A dog print smock. If she has 3 litters at once, a smock would be nice to keep all the little messes off her clothes. With one litter I seem to always be getting something on me. -- Now that I think about it, a good gift for someone raising three litters at once might be a gift certificate for a spa day -- she may need a break! LOL!
