Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Raspberry leaf for whelping? Anyone use it? "Raspberry Leaf is used as a traditional herbal remedy for the symptomatic relief of problems associated with whelping and kittening and an aid in the prevention of pseudo-pregnancy in dogs and cats. Due to its action as a uterine tonic, this well known birth aid has been used for hundreds of years to help ensure an easy and straightforward delivery. Many bitches and queens who have previously experienced problems have subsequently had normal easy births with the aid of this herb, it will reduce the delivery time and make the labour less painful, and enrich the milk. It should be given from the third week of gestation and continued until one week after delivery to help ensure complete afterbirth expulsion. Raspberry Leaf is effective in the prevention of phantom pregnancy. Bitches who are prone to this condition should be given the recommended preventative dose from the first sign of coming into season and continued for twelve weeks as a preventative measure. Un-coated tablets may be crushed for easy administration to cats and the smaller breeds of dog. "

| I gave Destiny raspberry leaves her first pregnancy. She had three pups so very quickly and easily with no problems. This time around I didn't give the raspberry leaves to her and she was in labor a lot longer and had more difficulty. She had the same amount of pups both times, about the same weights as well. I don't know if it is the raspberry leaves that made the difference or not. I will be giving them to her next time around to see how it goes.

| Raspberry leaves help the uterus contract. My midwife advised me to drink it after the birth of my son, and it really did help, so I can imagine that it would help contractions be stronger. Interesting!

| I used it with 2 of my preg. The births where easier and faster recovery . Great with milk also! I regret not using it with my last one. I had a horrible labour that went on forever. I am hoping to use this with my bitches. Hopefully it will make a difference. |
