| Question need answer immediately I'm getting a new litter. she has delivered 3 so far, but the third one is still attached tio the placenta which is still inside her. Been like that for 20 minutes. Is that OK or should I try to get it out? |

| You need to clamp the cord with 2 hemostats and cut the cord between the two clamps...leave the clamp attatched to mom hanging there until you can retract the placenta with a contraction...The clamp will keep the placenta from sliding back up into mom...

| Thanks Lori. She appears to be finished. No new ones for almost 2 hours now. Mom and babies are doing fine. She is resting comfortably and the babies are all nursing. |

I'll post pictures in the nursery section later today. Thanks for all the posts of sympathy. It was sad to lose the little boy. I tried everything to get him to breath, but he never even moved. He was really small, 1.8 ounce. Mom and babies did fine over night, I haven't weighed them yet today to see if they've gained. | |
