| BYB vs Small Breeder??? What is the actual difference between back yard breeders and small "dedicated" breeders? |

| There's a lot of differences. Pretty much a BYB just breeds for greed and more than likely doesn't care about the dogs, or who they go to. They'll breed many different breeds, mix different breeds, and probably won't do health screening. Also, because they are in it for the $$$, they will probably overcharge, and if your puppy gets sick, they probably won't care. A small dedicated breeder on the other hand, cares about the puppies, only breeds to better the breed, cares about who the puppies go to, does health screening, breeds as a hobby and not for the money. I would go with a small dedicated breeder any day over a backyard breeder!

| If you want to become a reputable stud owner I definitly would not breed your yorkie with a s**tzu. Reputable breeders breed to better the breed, and mixing with a s**tzu is not exactly bettering the breed. From what I've learned on here, you pretty much need to have your guy health screened, tested for STDs, find his faults, and it would probably be best to find a mentor to help you out. And to answer your question, IMO purposely mixing the two breeds would make someone a BYB. There's a lot to learn about breeding, but the forums on here should definetly help you out!
