my bff does promotional printing and we were thinking of making some yorkie Christmas ornaments and putting those on my site.

but there would be a pretty decent expense in getting everything...so we need to know your opinion...would you buy something like that????

do you have any ideas?? we are thinking those really nice glass balls and making some pretty yorkie design on there, the year, and maybe "I love my yorkie" or something like that.

we are TOTALLY up for suggestions...what do you guys think???

Oh I would definitely purchase one, they sound really cute, I think every doggie deserves an ornament on the Christmas tree...you could write the furbabies name on the ornament too!! I love it! You have such a creative mind....

i considered doing the names too...i would need to see what all in involved in that..since she does the printing i am not sure how difficult it would be for her to change it up for each order. i will be talking to her about this tomorrow. it might be super simple and we can make custom ornaments!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there anyway you could paint and just hand paint the names on them? I know that I have seen craft ornaments that use some sort of paint....not sure though.

Can't wait to hear what you find out. This is Bella's first Christmas and our pet boutique hadn't received their Christmas ornaments, so I was on the hunt for one!! I would much rather give my business to a YT member! :)

Hi! I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm working on personalized christmas ornaments. You know that I do personalized handpainted plaques and stuff, so I've been working on this for the last few weeks. They are gonna be handpainted in wood, and they will have the yorkie's name and more. I wanted to tell you this because lately there have been issues with people saying that they are copying each other and stuff. So I'll be posting my products soon, and I don't want anybody to take it the wrong way. Just wanted to make that clear and if you're gonna do them in glass they are going to be different anyway :)

thanks for posting this!!! yes, they will be different :) I personally do not have the time to go around and see what everyone else is making and try to copy them :) I simply get an idea..and go with it LOL when she first started her printing business, a lady told her that the most successful things she had done was going to different churches, taking a picture of the church, and putting it onto an ornament and selling them to the church members. so as i was sitting here last night, i thought "why can't we do that with yorkie stuff??"

i personally think competition is great...and if someone else can make my product better than i can...then great. it will keep me trying to improve :)

you are right...sounds like we are selling 2 different animals anyway :) but i do appreciate you posting this so that there is not anyone out there saying we are trying to copy each other LOL silly how we have to cover our butts that way LOL

Hopefully you two shouldn't have any problems, since yours is wood and hers is glass!!!! Plus, you can never have enough yorkie ornaments!!!! i am ready to buy some ornaments!!! Christmas is my favorite Holiday!!!

Ok...the wheels are spinning. i talked to her and she is all for it. the personalizing would be a bit more expensive if she screen printed the names and such on there...because it would be a whole new screen for each name. However, they do sell the paint pens that you can use on glass and I could do that part by hand.

I think what we will do is make a couple of "testers" and see how they turn out. Once we do...I will post pictures and see what you all think about them. I would love to have them available for the next GE!!!!!!!!!

I think it's a GREAT idea! For both of you ladies! Christmas is my favorite time of the year too, and I've had up to 8 different trees in our house (one huge tree and varying other sizes), so I can see a "Yorkie TREE" that will need to be decorated with Yorkie ornaments! So, yeah, you can never have too many of them:thumbup:

We have a tradition in my family, each child gets an ornament every year with their name and year on ornament....so of course Harley will need one this year, and next, and next, lol! I thnk it's a GREAT IDEA!!:thumbup:

A Very Yorkie Christmas

Milli's waiting for Santa Paws or just Santa Paws

We have that same tradition! When I got married, my parents gave me all my ornaments. My girls love looks at my first Christmas ornament. Now we do the same thing for our girls. Now that Bella has arrived, she needs ornaments too!!!! :)
