YTers Sunnie and ShodanUSMC have donated the most darling teddy bear and yorkie for the raffle at the Reliant Dog Show in July. Thank you SO much Sunnie and Steve...these precious darlings will bring much needed money for the YHR foster pups!
I had received a Smilebox prior to their arrival and found them to be absolutely darling! The day the package came, I anxiously opened it to get a good look and oh my goodness, I was just floored. They are beyond gorgeous! Even prettier than the pictures if that is at all possible.

Linda Lou and Lulu

Linda Lou and Lulu are a one of a kind mohair teddy bear and yorkie set designed and created by award winning teddy bear artist Sonya Shaw of Sunnie Bears. Linda Lou is 16 inches tall standing and was made of soft honey tan kid mohair. She has 100% merino wool felt paw and foot pads with hand stitched claw details, a hand stitched perle cotton nose, German glass eyes, and hand shaded detailing. Linda Lou is fully jointed (head, arms, and legs) with hardboard joints and stainless steel bolts, washers, and lock nuts. She has flexible armatures inserted in her arms for pose-ability. Her one of a kind dress features paw prints and puppies with an embroidered bodice proclaiming her love of yorkies, topped off with a sheer red bow at the neck. . She wears matching red sheer bows in her hair.

Lulu the yorkie was made of long soft silky golden tan and black mohair. Lulu is jointed with hardboard joints and stainless steel cotter pins at the head and front legs with fixed hind legs. She stands 3- 4 inches tall and also has a hand stitched perle cotton nose, German glass eyes, and hand shaded detailing. Her top knot is tied in place with a red “show bow” with gold edged trim and Swarovski crystal details. She also has a soft, fluffy, deep burgundy bed for napping.

The artist, Sonya Shaw, has been making teddy bears professionally as Sunnie Bears for 10 years. Her designs have rewarded her with many National and International awards, including the prestigious TOBY (Teddy Bear of the Year) award in 2004, the Jeju Teddy Bear Museum award for bear of the year and artist of the year, the USRA award in 2006, and first place awards at the Linda Mullins Show in San Diego, CA. Her bears are owned by collectors and teddy bear museums world wide and have graced the pages of many International Teddy Bear magazines. This one of a kind set was created exclusively for Yorkie Haven Rescue and retails at $250 for the set.

Oh it really is a lovely donation!! And, yes she is extremely talented! I was just so in awe when I saw them! :) I am going to hate having to give them up come July. :(

I bet that POLO thread had something to so with it. I am starting to wonder why most of us even bother with some of these moronic trolls. Maybe it is best to just ignore tham, especially the ones with the intelligence of a maggot.

That's my guess, and I am sticking with it.

Her heart is in the right place. She just wants what is best for the furbaby. I just don't think she can ignore it. All she wants is to make sure the owner does the responsible thing. I don't understand why people don't get it. I think she is amazing and it is truly a loss to them.

Oh sweet Lady Jane....don't know what happened, and do not care. You are still tops on my list. :)

Even though Linda isn't here right now, I wanted to say thank you for posting such a great review.. Steve should get much more of the credit. He is the one who is donating the bear. I just hope that it brings a lot of money to the rescues.

I also thought you all might get a kick out of seeing the bear and yorkie set I just finished for my second mentor. I will be delivering it to her in Texas on the 28th. And if she smacks me because of what it says on the shirt, I am blaming Mardelin!! lol

LJ, I miss you too but know that you are in the hearts of many of us on YT. I do hope everyone will participate in the YHR Raffel in July. Linda works all year round for this and its their BIG fundraiser for the pups.

Each of your bears are gorgeous.....but, this one is got to be the most special...it so depicts her and of course her most recent Best In Specialty Dog, Tony.

I don't think she'll smack you, since she owns a shirt just like it and wears it proudly.

Love the Lee bear. You are so talented and skilled! How long does it take you to "do" a nose? Just wondered if a real pro like you are still struggles with the perfect nose or after you do enough it gets easy. I love your website and camp there often!!! :)

Sunnie gets all the credit. My donation is just a small percentage of the true Value of the Bear and little Yorkie. She does outstanding work!

I hope they raise some nice money for the rescue to help the little dogs, and that is what it is all about.
