Need feedback on a new line
 
I have been thinking of wanting to learn applique for a while now and would like to know if this will spark interest. I will be taking a class soon but thought to give you an idea how adorable applique could be to our furbaby's outfits. I just found this link and thought I'd share just to give you ideas . . .of course I will come up with original designs . . . . or even get from this site . . . think of the possibilities . . . .it can go on towels and vests and dress harnesses . . . what do you all think?????

Would you make the appliques just for your clothing line, or to sell as well? What is the advantage of appliques versus embroidery?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!!! We just love cupcakes here....and appliques are so fun....gives it a new dimension. LOVE IT!!! :thumbs_up

Hi Jodie . . .the applique I am referring to aren't the ones you see at the store where they are premade and a bit on the stiff side. This type of applique is using different fabric backings and then running a satin stitch around them. With the embroidery I am currently doing on all gofetch collection, it is all about the use of thread. With Applique, it is using and playing with different fabrics and outlining it with embroidery thread. If you look at the link and look at the cupcake samples, the printed background are all made of fabric material. So it will be fun to say do a sunflower design with the petals in fabric and then outlined with satin stitches. (hope am making sense here :p ).

The link that I attach sells the artwork so she is just showing off samples.

I love it. I can think of a million designs that would be adorable for that and I, for one, would want some applique dresses for my girls!!

I get it now!!!!! That would be an extra adorable way to coordinate a skirting fabric with the design of the applique or to even elaborate on patterns!!!!! Very nice!!!!

Absolutely LOVE the cupcakes for the girls.......... and the "Monsters" would be perfect for the little boys!!!!

Oh MY.......... I guess I will be saving my $$$ for Kansas City AND the new spring Go.Fetch Line!!!!!! :D :D

... I defintely like the personalized towels!!!..... I will wait and see what embroidery patterns that you decide on and will have to order some for Shelby & Seymour.

I love the idea. :thumbup: Which actually reminds me of a question I've been meaning to ask you. Can you take an image--any image--and embroider it on a dress? If so, I have a custom dress I'd like to have made! :)

Hi Misty, yes I can convert any jpeg file to a digitized format to be embroidered. I posted on the featured yorkie products for sale a denim outfit I especially made for Sukoshi's MOM for her hubby's side business. She gave me a jpeg of the logo and just converted it to embroidery format.

I am not sure if I have mentioned this before but I can even digitize a photo :eek: as this was taken up briefly in the embroidery class but please, please do not ask me to go into this yet :eek: :eek: eventually I will but not anytime soon :) One project at a time :)

btw, I need to make it clear to everyone that the cupcake applique is just a sample of what can be done . . . .so I hope you will not think that is all I am planning on doing :p I will try to make more boy designs so they won't feel left out like the truck sample :thumbup: Just like embroidery, it take a bit of time to make one outfit but I am having so much fun I don't mind if it takes me just one dress a night to make it . . .

Buddy's personalized towel is ordered. We got the Splish, Splash the one with the yellow duck on it.
Of course it's the oversized one!:D
