Gizzy stole his GE buddy's blankie!!! 2 Attachment(s) I found some cute fleece on sale, so I made my first attempt at making a fringed fleece blanket. It's a pretty gender-neutral pattern and color scheme, so I thought it would be a good buddy gift. It was pretty easy to make, but I'm not sure all the fringe is exactly even, and I don't know if the knots are right, but I was pleased. Apparently, I wasn't the ONLY one who liked it. :D I went to the kitchen to wash dishes, came back and Gizzy had pulled it off the couch and was laying on it! It was too cute. I guess it's his blankie now. I will just have to make another one, but it's all good! Now I know how (even though it's not perfect) and I can use his GE buddy's colors for the new one. If anyone has any suggestions for improvement, I would appreciate it. Are the knots right? Thanks in advance. |
Very cute!!1 I love the fabric and Gizzy looks so pleased with himself!! |
oh that is adorable ... and Gizmo is a good example of the thought process of any Yorkie ... if he likes it, then ALL de Yawkies will ... such cute pictures ... thanx for sharing .... |
it looks adorable! Gizzy seems quite content....love the skunk! where on earth did you get that? |
Thanks! He was pretty pleased with himself, the little stinker!! |

It has a squeaker in the belly and the legs and tail have that crinkle stuff in it (whatever that is). He likes it a lot. :) |

What a darling blanket. GREAT WORK!:) That Giz ... he's so cute. You couldn't be mad!:p |
Hey I would have taken the blanket, it is so cute! He looks so comfortable in it. I love when they do things like that!!!! |
You're right, I couldn't be mad, and I HAD to laugh. I probably shouldn't reward him, but how can I take it away now? :) |
Yeah, but MOM, Gizzy NEEDED that blankey. It had sentimental value since it was the very first that his mommy made. Looks like you might have another career in store -- making blankeys..... |
Thank you, but I think I'll keep my day job! LOL |
oh HOW CUTE!!! i love the colors! a helpful hint.. when you cut the strips and get to the corner, cut in a semicircle around the corner as opposed to going right UP to the corner edge, not sure whether you did this or not but i know when i did my first one i made that mistake! but it looks SO nice and comfy... i would have stole it too :p |

Too cute Love the print:) |
Wow, Judy that blanket looks great for your lst attempt. I love fleece material but I hate to sew and can't, so I buy all my furbabies stuff. Gizzy looks like he's making himself right at home on "his new blanket". Ah... he deserves this one. ;) |
Well, Gizzy will be happy since the consensus seems to be that he gets to keep it. Remember this! You have started him on a life of crime. Here comes Gizzy, the blanket snatcher! :D |
the blanket looks good, Its pretty hard to mess those up. I've been making them for famly members for years. I bought different colors of fleece and I'm waiting to see if i get male or female before I make mine :) |
I made a blanket like that for Reece and was pretty proud of myself too!! Its quite expensive to make though so we only have one lmao...yours is very cute!! We have a skunk too!! lol... Dawn |

Is it the same skunk? There were several other animals in the TY bow wow collection, but this was my favorite. I can't remember what the others were right now. |

Great job!!! It turned out great. I always look for sales on fleece and look at the remnant section too. |
what a cute blanket!! i made one for Bella before i got her from the breeder so she would have something snuggly when i got her home! she looooooves that blanket now! hers is light pink and purple and i embroidered a heart on the front of it! she sleeps on that thing day and night! for your first blanket that is really good! they are super easy once you get the hang of it! yours is really cute! i can see Gizmo really likes it! haha |
How cute, I love the color as it seems your Gizmo does. My Gizmo has one like it also but a darker color. We take it it work with us and everyone loves it. Yours seems larger though, how big did you cut your squares? |

I was sort of winging it, so I cut the yard of fabric in half. It's more of a rectangle than a square. It measured 37 X 29 or so before I cut the fringe. |
