They make scrapbookin really easy now IMHO for beginners... you can buy some small complete kits to start off with... I know Big Lots has some for less than 5 bucks -- now its nothing elobrate but it gets you a good start! It comes up with a photo album, paper, stickers, etc. ---- My friend got me one for a lil boy when I got Mr Sammy Sam for his Puppy Shower |

I love to scrapbook. I love shopping for all of the supplies and paper and neat gadgets. My problem is I just don't have a lot of time to do it. I spend most of my time enjoying my yorkie girls...Alyssa and Emily Kate. Maybe some day when life is more calming I can do some scrapbooks for them. |

I don't have a Michael's store...well there is one but it is about 1 1/2 hours away!! We do have two Hobby Lobby stores (you would think they would have put in a Michael's)...and they do the 40% off coupon too! I meant to stop by there today since they have their scrapbooking stuff (stickers, albums, etc) on sale this week....BUT :eek: I FORGOT!!! |

Ozzie Are you doing a book for Papi?? That is so cool! ARe you doing it with multiple colors and no certain theme?? I would love to send you some things for his book! I have a half used pack of yorkie stickers from EK Sucess and I have some cute titles for the top of page (doggie themed of cours lol) . I have so much scrappin stuff seriously please let me send you some. I'd love to be able to contribute! That page is really nice and the pic is priceless! Do you have lots of pics?? If you do and they are on your puter I can even make a page for him. I just need the pic and the size of the book. If ou would rather do it all yourself I'd understand but If you need help IM HERE! |
THANKS, Paula! Yeah, I am doing a Papi book. Vicky (Gypsy & Me) is going to help me make a "virtual" version so it can be shared in its entirety once it has gone out to Papi. Appreciate the offer, but I am very nearly there. (The Michaels trip last night got the last of what I was needing.) I am planning to mail it Thursday morning so it can get to him by his b-day next Tuesday. I'm like you -- I have tons of stuff so this has been a great opportunity to make me turn loose of some of it.:D I have been doing books for a few years now as gifts. When my high school friends (there is a gang of 8) started turning 40 a few years ago, I did a book for each one of them. They all had a common start but each was personalized with pix of them from HS through present. I kind of told a little story about each one. That's what I did with Papi's book. It's a story about his coming to YorkieTalk, what brought him there -- and the train to bring him PC.:) |

Iam not a scrapper, but my friend is and she made me the most beautiful memorial book of my parents, they have both passed:( when i look at that book it just brings so many memories to me and touches my heart , i cry everytime i look at it, its the best gift i have ever received, I really respect you all who take the time to make these beautiful memories come to life, papi will so love it, what a wonderful gift:) |
Thanks -- that is so great to hear. When I gave my last two friends their books last year another of my friends who had gotten hers months before, but hadn't really said much about it, pulled me aside, thanked me again for hers and told me it was one of her prized possessions!:) I need to write a little note to Papi and go get this book in the mail. I need to run uptown anyway and get us some lunch.:) It's also time for Ozzie's yogurt! |

WOW All your pages look great! I just got into scrapbooking and I love it! The only problem is since I have a digital camera I have no way of printing the pictures, they are all on my computer. |

Oh my gosh! I am so inspired now! Thank you for sharing pics of your pages. I read through both threads, and I think I'm going to make some pages for Gizmo. I like to do stained glass, but I worry about the pieces of glass around a puppy, not to mention the lead. I am also learning to crochet, but Gizmo thinks that it's playtime when I start! Scrapbooking sounds promising! Thanks for the ideas! :D |
