Gift Exchange I was just thinking about an idea. I somehow trailed off onto another Yorkie forum the other day (I"m not sure if anyone here is on there as well) but it was *********.com. There were a lot of informative threads on there and really nice, friendly people. But of course, I am a YorkieTalk.com lover and I feel more comfortable here than anywhere else! They have this thing for special holidays and they assign names and exchange gifts for eachother's pets (I believe a minimum of however much money). The other day, I had the same thing at work for Easter. It was called "Secret Bunny". We all signed up, drew names and then brought in a Easter basket full of stuff for the other person and left it on their desk. So, I was thinking..maybe we can do that too! It seems like a really fun idea and a great way to get to know eachother and our pets better since we're all so addicted to this! :p Just an idea!! :rolleyes: What do you guys think?? |

I have done that on another forum I belong to as well and it is so much fun!! You can definitely count me in!! Hefner had so much fun opening his easter present!! He got all these things with his nae embroidere on them because our "pal" had one of those fancy sewing machines. It was great!! it was also fun shopping for our "pal". Yay! :D I think this will be great! I'm not sure if I can handle all of this so would someone be willing to help me if Admin agrees to it? :rolleyes: I can't wait! Especially with summer coming up, all those bright colors and cute tshirts and toys for our Yorkies would be awesome! I'm glad you guys like the suggestion! :tongue: |

That's great that so many people want to do it! For some reason, and this may seem tacky and silly but I'm excited! I cannot wait until our first gift exchange! Should we do one for Independence Day? July 4th, with a red-white-blue theme to our gifts? That'd be neat! And maybe the admin can start a seperate place for Gift Exchange like SoCalyorkiLvr suggested? :p This is going to be great! |
i don't have the first clue how to get it started (if it's ok with admin) but you tell me what to do and i'll do it!! i do think if we're going to do it that no one should be left out. i think it's a great way to start friendships, well online friendships anyways :D |
I'm not quite sure how to get it started but I can sure use some help! Maybe SoCalyorkiLvr can help me since she's more familiar with it than I am? :rolleyes: Pretty please? :D I think we can start a signup list if the Admin approves and starts another section for it. Some people might not want to be a part of it due to money problems or personal problems, etc. but whoever wants to join can maybe sign up somewhere? :animal-sm |

I am at work most of the time so I can probably make up a spreadsheet with all of the information! |
Yes, I think Yorkie name(s) and sex of the Yorkies, and perhaps put a cap on how much to spend? Like $10 or $20? Also, I think it'd be nice if everyone mailed the items out with delivery confirmation and/or insurance, just to be safe... |
I totally agree with that. Especially with the cap and all the information! I'm going to start a new thread to try and gather all this information into a data base. |
