Halloween Swap?? (We need 8)
 

Anyone interested? We hadn't done this in a while and we fell short the last time we reached out for a SWAP. Could be fun for the Halloween/Fall Harvest Time :p

I was in the xmas swap once. How does this work?

If we get 8 people, Admin will allow us to do a SWAP, we set an spend amount say $25, someone will be responsible for maintaining who is in the swap and addresses, you get a person, by X date you send the gift to your SWAP buddy (its like a secret santa) and when you get the gift you post on this section of the forum thanking your buddy.

I assume we swap Halloween related items?

It can be a fall/Halloween theme . You can also put other things in that aren't necessarily Halloween if you think your buddy would like it or need it.

I wouldn't mind participating in another GE. It has been years since the the my last one. I participated in about 10 Gift Exchanges. At first they were sweet and simple and bunches of fun.

Then they got kinda complicated and it just wasn't so much fun anymore so many of us "oldies but goodie" members quit participating and the exchanges just fizzled.

So, I think I would enjoy an Halloween Themed Exchange.

Ok we have 3 let me see if I can recruit a few more.

Really hope that we get some more interest. If anyone is even thinking about doing an exchange, please go back and read some of the old treads and posts to get an idea about how much fun they are!!!!

Has anyone thought about contacting some of the older members who don't post as much?

Fantastic idea. I am going to go back through my "thank you" threads in the GE forum and send messages to some of the folks who have been my buddies in the past -- maybe it will drum up some interest!

It's kinda sad because A LOT of older members stopped coming. I don't know if life took over or facebook was easier or what. It would be nice if we could get some of the newer posters to donate and join in but I'm not sure how to hipe them up to want to do that.

Yes you do have to be a donating member to participate.

Someone PM me and I'll post an official sign up on Oct 1st. We can probably make it more of a Holiday theme to allow several weeks for sign up then do the GE in November if everyone is up for that. But I have pregnancy brain and will need to be reminded lol

Awww, it will be so much fun to have a wee little one, still in the oven participating. I am sure you will get many reminders and I will add my own.

I have 2 new babies since my last GE- I have 3 babies now :love: (we have participated in many....)
On the fence but may be interested. Had a great time in most of the other exchanges. GE's used to be a lot of fun.

Considering it. I've done quite a few! Maybe a dozen? No clue now. But my 2 newbies haven't done any yet. Sugar and Curri have done many in the past.

So excited knowing that there will be a sign-up. Just can't wait!! What a wonderful way to introduce one or both of the new kids to your YT family!

Yeah. Still fence sitting. I'm seeing drama still. Hoping that's not the case :love:

Halloween Swap
 

I don't do anything Halloween. To much evil is associated with it anymore. In my area cities last year there were over 250 arrests because of being dressed as clowns due to the murders that have been happening by people dressed as clowns.
This is not just at Halloween but it is more so during this time. I used to have a clown ministry and was about to build my Web page to teach clowning from a ministry point of view. Not going to happen. Don't do clowning anymore at all.

The GE's are a fun bonding activity for donating members of YT. Even though Rachel used the word "Halloween" in her thread title, GE's have never required participants to adhere to a specific theme. Please consider becoming a donating member and join in the fun. The Sign-Up thread will be posted sometime on 10/1 and they generally run for at least a couple of weeks to give members plenty of time to ponder and make decisions.

It is really sad that the few evil folks in the world can spoil so much innocent fun for the children. Personally I love Halloween - I just wish I lived in an area where we had trick-o-treaters and could join in the fun. Alas, we live on a farm in a rural rural area and haven't done "Halloween" since our own children were young and we hosted huge parties, with bon fires, horse back riding, and hay rides pulled by our miniature horses. A lot of happy life-long memories were made. My favorite was the group of German foreign exchange students most of whom had never touched a horse- eaten plenty, but never touched a live one. :rolleyes:

I completely understand about the clowns. It is really sad that something which once brought joy now brings terror. I loved clowns back in the day of the greats like Emmitt Kelley, but now I find them rather creepy and threatening.
