Example of to small of a photo
 

As the gift exchange is coming to it's conclusion lots of pictures will be taken and posted. I love to view the photos, but only if they are in a size I can see. I am not a computer wiz and I know Yorkie Talk is not the easiest place to post photos but often when I click on a photo it comes up a nice size, but other times it hardly enlarges at all. Does anyone know why some photos enlarge and some don't?? I view YT pics on a PC so perhaps I notice the size more than some of you do. Anyhow I hope everyone posts pics that enlarge nicely when clicked on.

when I click on Zeus's photo it enlarges nicely. Can you guys tell the difference? I ask that since I know several of you guys view on phones and pads

not as small as the first one, but not as large as the second one I posted I can not figure out why they are always so different, I will post one just under the max size allowed and see how that pulls up

to me the second and third one was the largest, and the largest KB pic looked the smallest on the screen, very weird

so what size does your's look compared to mine?? wondering if it is what you are viewing it on that matters

It's pretty bad when a woman tells me "mine is bigger than yours"! LOL! Your pics are 4x bigger. My pic was only 31k in size. All the pics I take are at least 4mg in size...I use this site resize them so I can post them

I am going to play with the size until i get the best results.

When I edit a photo on my phone it only gives me options to resize 10%, 25%, 50% etc. The only size that yt will allow is the 10% and it is always tiny. I always wondered if I can't get larger photos because I have used up most of my allotted photo space?

I wish yt had an option to resize your photo built in as you are posting your photo so you can get the size right.

I don't think when posting there is an allotted photo space, I though that was just in the members profile in the album section.. I never post a photo to YT from my phone, I only post photos that are stored on my computer so I did not know about that you can only post at 10%. That probably explains why there are so many small photos on the site because most people are now posting directly from their phones. When I post a photo, I always downsize it on my computer to just under the 200 that is allowed, I keep saving and checking the pic till I get it just under, that is labor intensive so I almost never post a pic here anymore, it's sad but lot of members feel the same way.

I use to be able to edit a photo using Pizap and it would load with no issues. Now since YT got a new server it never works. I have to try several times before I FINALLY get one that will load and it pissed me off. Very time consuming. So thanks for the lesson in sizing, very helpful.

I wish posting a photo here was easier with the size restriction and everything. That's why I hardly ever post pictures too. It's just too much trouble resizing them.

Firstly, I would like to say that Bob- they'll toilet paper Pic was adorable :) and Donna, Lola is such a beauty, just really stunning.

I used to have trouble posting pics on YT, now I usually don't. I have always used my phone because we don't actually own a working computer. For a while the most frustrating part about uploading pics was that they uploaded sidewAys unless I rotated them in a complete circle through my phones edit function prior to uploading- weird huh? A huge hurdle for me was resizing to under 200kb. I bought an app for one dollar and it works well for me, now that is not a problem. It was very sad though as with each kb smaller my pictures got they became more fuzzy and I lost picture quality- which wasn't that great to begin with, I also do not own a camera beside my phone. The first week into the ge was my birthday and i got a fancy new phone! I use the same old resizing app but my pictures look better because the resolution from the initial photo was superior to my old phones photo capabilities- or at least that was what I thought. Still can only post one pic at a time on iPhone (which makes me sad). I did always wonder though what made the photo present smaller or larger, even when Bob changed dimensions on the tortoise I really didn't see a photo square size difference? to me that picture was not that small, the one I posted as an example seemed smaller and definitely much more narrow. That's why I keep wondering if perhaps my computer might see a different size than other people's phone does. Also when viewing from a phone all photos might look the same size

Yes, I do think that sparkle hair tie picture was displayed much narrower but some of your sample pictures looked larger than any of the ones I posted. Bobs first pictures were quite small but still square, the turtles pictures were larger. My phone has a six inch screen, it is the same size as my kids kindle, lol. But photos definitely look different sizes throughout threads and posters.

I see, so you are in a way seeing what I am seeing then only on a different scale. While your photos might not have been as large as mine, they are not to tiny, so I can comfortably able to view them, LOL that is a good thing:thumbup:

Oh! Now there is another phone vs computer issue that I had not considered- if a photo is too small to see well, I just slide my fingers over it and zoom the picture larger so that I can see it. It would be much more frustrating to come across a small picture if there was no way to enlarge it. Part of the reason I am excited about having a new phone that is larger is that I am having. Harder time reading small print and I am very disorganized and never know where my reading glasses are (I also should probably have prescription glasses since i had a mild prescription over ten years ago) and the larger phone screen coupled with the zoom function is really a lot easier on my eyes.

I am on a 17 inch laptop right now and your pics look fine Alyssa. While I agree with Donna's suggestion that we create an album for the pics I am sure I will want to show off a few pics within the threads. :D

I feel your pain, I can not do anything without reading glasses I am up to 2.75 and buy them in bulk at the dollar store, I kid you not though out the house I must have 25 pair, at the gym I hang a pair of glasses on the outside of the locker or I would not be able to open it, I think everyone of my friends knows about my crazy collection of dollar store reading glasses, in fact I just bought four more pair tonight and I have about 8 pair in a tall cup in the sink to be washed:D you are probably right though my PC is not touch screen so no enlarging with a swipe of the fingers:(

Ha ha ha! Yes I am on my way :D I only have three pairs of dollar store reading glasses but I was thinking the last time I was there that I ought to just stock up! My thirteen year old has a retainer and I have to use this special tool to find this tiny hole in some wheel and turn it every other night- well, we went for our orthodontist check up and they informed me I wasn't doing it right, only getting a half turn in and they gave me a demonstration right there saying (as my liove with his better eyesight says when he does it) see honey? Just right there... And dang it all if they all could just tell I couldn't see it and my teenager blurts out, "mom, maybe you should wear your reading glasses then you could actually see" and ya know what? She was right! Lol, since then I have taken it more seriously. I will need to make it to an eye dr soon I suppose.
