I too participated in the GE a couple of years and thoroughly enjoyed it. I
certainly won't again if I am to be banned anyway if something comes up and
I dont live up to everyone's expectations. It was certainly inappropriate for Deb to forget and not send a thank you, but I dont think it is unforgivable. All of you who want her banned, if you forgot to send a thank you would you think you should be banned too? I mean really she isnt out stomping puppies or something. Forgive and Forget and let's move on.

Nancy, Theresa said basically the same thing to me. If anyone posts here and agrees with her, she is fine with that. If you don't agree with her then you shouldn't be allowed to post here??? This is a PUBLIC thread on a PUBLIC forum. Get real.

I'm still in shock at her response to Deb's sincere and heartfelt apology. Who does that??? :confused:

How could you have participated in a GE without being a donating member and only having 78 posts :confused:

In 2005 when the GE first started you didn't have to be a DM or have so many posts, etc. I was a part of the very first GE ever, so I remember how it was at the beginning.

She said that she didn't have internet access without paying. So that leads me to believe that a few dollars spent for access was deemed to much of an expense for a Thank You. That pretty much set the tone for my responses from that point forward.

There is no conspiracy going on here and not sure why you would think that would be so. There are rules that were established by Admin that we were instructed to read prior to signing up for a GE and as adults we should be able to follow these basic rules. When I signed up I follow the rules to my best understanding because it's a PRIVILEGED to participate. The GE is NOT A RIGHT.

Over the years the rules change. My SB was Loretta Lyon from S.C. Still remember what she sent us one year.

Pretty sure me and you are on the same page especially with what you said in the last thread. That's exactly how I feel about it.

I have no ill dislike towards either parties and I really hope Deb will consider staying here even though it probably isn't likely. Obviously she should be given a suspension from the GE for her actions but as a person, I wouldn't mind seeing her post on the forum.

Perfect example. The rules have evolved because of previous problems and concerns to address issues such as this one.

Given my own traumatic experience during a GE, and seeing others experience "life" during a GE it is hard for me to imagine what could possibly get in the way of fulfilling your obiligations of the GE short of something horrific beyond words. Even still, I try to understand that not everyone is like me and I try to be forgiving.

However in the same breath, I understand how hurt Theresa was/is. I know for a fact she poured her heart and soul into her box. She was asked to be patient in waiting and the hurt builds and turns to anger or what ever. Just as I would try to put myself in Deb's shoes, I also understand Theresa's side of this. No she may not be handling it as I might I don't know that. I can't say I wouldn't be impulsed to lash out too. But I try to understand and the least I can do is be a friend and allow her to vent as she works through it. I think she deserves to vent it out and we be equally understanding. How she does that is not for me to judge. Some of us accept apologies sooner than others and some of us need time to process the whole thing especially if we're the ones with the hurt feelings.

Personally, I think both members are a valued part of YT, and I think if given the opportunity, space, and time they will be able to work this out privately among them, but I don't think that's going to happen with our emotions also involved.
