Oh, don't worry Riley! Your buddy is probably dying to get home and gush here about the goodies you picked!

I personally cant wait til next GE which will be our first, and I cant wait to spoil someone as much as I do Luma!! I've loved watching all these smileboxes.

Yeah.... I think that he thinks the box is still on its way.... I told him it had a long way to go. ;) I was sent a PM that Thursday with a promise of a Smilebox, that night, and was checking morning and night for the next few days.... since it is the most exciting thing about the GE, for me at least.
I'm over it.... I'm no longer checking and don't even really care to see one, now. It is what it is.

I really do hope that everything is okay!! :confused:

Hopefully it was just a matter of a timing issue with a vacation that could have (and should have) been handled differently.

I'm sorry to hear about your incident with the GE. It's a shame that sometimes one person has to ruin it for a recipient. This is one reason we haven't participated in the last couple of GE's. But I DID acknowledge receipt of our box and posted a short Smilebox and did not let on how disappointed we were in receiving "Dollar Store" items with the $1 price still on each one! We had two great buddies in the first two we participated in but the third time was a horrible experience. I know 99.9% of the participants put a lot of love, time and thought (as well as money) into their secret buddy's gifts. I was very glad to see the minimum was raised. I'm sure most of those that participate spend a LOT more than what the minimum is. I know I did. I know it's not about the dollar amount but all one has to do is watch videos and Smilebox's from previous exchanges to see how much thought is put into the gifts. Just my two cents......

Ohhhh That Is Awful!! Yeah.... I knew I wasn't going to be able to get to my Smilebox for a couple of days so I at least went and posted a personal "Thank You" on Riley's buddy's page and let them know that. This will be my last.

I am sorry- I didnt join in on this one, but I have done one- it was a great expierence for us. I think my buddy enjoyed what I got them and I enjoyed what my buddy sent us. It really does suck it turned out for you like this, I am sorry- i feel bad for you bc i know it hurts- that is all part of the fun! I was thinking of joining in on the next one, and now i might think twice!!

Keep your head up- you have a lot of people that do care for you and your feelings!! ((Hugs))

I am so sorry that you didn't even get a thank you note, this is why i have never joined in the GE, I am not very PC savvy, so i would not be able to make a Smilebox for my pal and would never want anyone to feel left out or disappointed

I have always been hesitant of the doing the GE. I would be one to get all in to it and go overboard. I would want my buddy to LOVE their gifts! I'm afraid of being let down like you. It would really bother me to get a box of dollar store junk or to not even get a thank you from my buddy! That would be the worst! My seven yr. old DD is writing bday thank you notes right now. Thank yous are so important!! I ALWAYS write my thank yous and want my dd to do so as well.

Aww, Theresa... I'm so sorry. I hope this doesn't ruin the GE for you forever :(

I'm really starting to worry about her though, I just checked her profile and the last sign on was 3/7. Have you messaged her?

Theresa, have you contacted Admin to let them know you never received a thank you? I am pretty sure they do keep track of potential problems with participants in the GE's so others don't have the same problems in upcoming GE's.

:thumbup: and yes thank you's and pictures of your gifts are required if you participate in the GE...it is in the rules.
