For me, I love creating a box full of goodies to surprise a furbaby with. I love to be crafty, but it is not as much fun if I can't share it with someone, so I would say that is my main drive in participating. As far as the very generous boxes we've received, a lot of it is seasonal and I have enjoyed being able to put out toys/blankets/clothes for the season. I also love it when I receive something that someone else finds useful that I've never thought of before, whether that be grooming products, treats, toys, whatever. |

I was so excited for Maddie and I couldn't wait for her to receive her box and see her smilebox, I almost forgot that we would be someone elses SB and we too would receive a box I was so wrapped up in Maddies box. :D Like I said I origionally planned to only enter one GE a year, but we had so much fun shopping for Maddie, and Kimberly and Bella really spoiled us and made our first GE so special that we simply HAVE to do it again. :D I also like to buy things from local stores as I think its nice that my buddy can have gifts that maybe they cant get in their country, because I know we received some gorgeous stuff that we cant get here at home. |
Okay Okay. Now I cannot wait to get my Buddy. I love to do the same thing and be creative and I love to buy for others. I rotate toys so they last longer but if I do the GE I might not have to. I am really exited about this. Guess it shows :D Everyone just seems to have such a great attitude towards it that it has to be fun! |

I know! I wish I already knew who my secret buddy is! I'm ready to start shopping and planning! But I don't know size, or sex, or favorites, etc. When do we get matched? I didn't see those details in the original post. Can't wait! :D |
I feel kind of foolish because I did not see it either when I read it the first time but here is the signup info. The signup period will end January 31, 2011. You will receive your Secret Buddy information within THREE DAYS after the end of the signup period. If for some reason you sign up and can not participate in this Gift Exchange, you MUST notify us before the end of the signup period. I have a feeling that January is going to pass very slowly ;) |
Thanks for reminding me how much fun it was to create a special box for our Secret buddies! Finding just the right things to specialize it was exciting! I think I had the most fun on the last one I did -- loved finding the Univ. of TN items! I actually found a dog carrier with Vols on it! The whole box was done up in lots of Orange! :) We did enjoy dressing the pups all in their GE Halloween outfits this year! And it is nice to be able to go pull a new toy for each one of them when I have had to leave them longer than normal for a Dr. appointment or something...... like today. My son had surgery on his shoulder. They had to repair two injuries but still managed to do it outpatient. Poor pups were alone for 6 hours! So they did all get a new toy out of the box. Ben always wants to jump IN the box to pick his own! Maybe there really is no such thing as too many toys! ;) |
My DH says that I spoil all my kids (skin and Furry). But I love them and they make such cute things. It is difficult to resist  He knows that I am looking for red shirts for my 2 and so he keeps an eye out for me. Oddly they have been hard to find. I just want a simple red t shirt. I bought them iron ons for the shirts that say "Thing 1" and "Thing 2". In case you do not get the connection, it is a Dr. Seus thing. :D After reading all the posts about where everyone is taking their little treasures I am going to start looking for a bag too I think. I have seen the backpack ones that have wheels. They look nice. Anyone have that kind? I am curious if the dogs really like it. |
For us, we get so wrapped up in putting together a box for our new buddy, trying to make the box special, and pacing the floor waiting for the postman to deliver it. I get such a kick out of the photo's of each yorkie getting their box. My dogs think all packages, or grocery bags must have something in it for them. Two of my seven are always the first and last ones to dig into the package, but all seem to get into it in their own way. We have recieved some pretty amazing gifts. YT has some very special people, and talented! |
I need to ask a very stupid question. :icon5: I am looking into signing up this time; however, it is my first time so I need to know somethings. I read over the rules but I am wondering if anyone knows what the real average is on the spending. It says a $25 dollar LIMIT but that doesn't really tell me how much the average spent is. Having never participated I have no idea. :confuse2: Also, is there anything else I would need to know? Please share if you don't mind. :D |

We also have to post at least 250 times to take part....so start reading and posting Carrie & Tucker |

This is actually what the quote says. It is not limit but minimum. Please note that the spending MINIMUM is $25 for your Gift Exchange gift (this does not include shipping), though if you choose to spend more on your Secret Buddy, you may. |

So excited! I agree that the February Exchange is one of the best! There is so much you can do with a built in theme like valentines day! Especially if you are lucky enough to get a yorkie that is the opposite gender of the one you entered. Automatic sweeties! I remember Tucker got satin red boxer shorts with pink harts on them once from his new *girlfriend* SB. I got such a kick out of that it still makes me giggle and smile. Good times! More great memories to be made this time around I am sure! |
