The next YorkieTalk Gift Exchange, YT GE XXI, our twenty first Gift Exchange, will take place in August 2010. Remember that the person you are giving a gift to MAY or MAY NOT be the same person you are receiving a gift from. You MAY or MAY NOT be paired with a Yorkie of the opposite sex. There is no official theme for this GE, though if you want to give your Secret Buddy winter-related items, that is fine.

We suggest you use the US Postal Service to mail to Canada or a non-USA address (as UPS and Fedex charges additional fees).

- You are a Donating Member of YorkieTalk.

- You have 250 or more posts here at YorkieTalk (before you sign up in this thread).

- You joined YorkieTalk before June 1, 2010.

- Please do NOT send your Secret Buddy any USED toys or clothes. Re-gifting a new item you may have received is fine, but any USED items are not allowed.

Please do not sign up unless you are currently a Donating Member.

Please note that the spending minimum is $25 for your Gift Exchange gift (this does not include shipping), though if you choose to spend more on your Secret Buddy, you may. Please do not expect anything more.

Here is the Gift Exchange Rules and Regulations thread. Please read it again, as there have been some changes to the rules since the last Gift Exchange. We now require all participants to be Donating Members (members that have donated $25 or more). If you are ALREADY currently a Donating Member (your usertitle shows Donating Member), this does not apply to you. We must receive your donation before you may sign up for this Gift Exchange. If you want to enter two Yorkies in this Gift Exchange, you must have donated a total of $50 or more.

Please note that you MAY receive a secret buddy in Canada (if you are in the US), and you MAY receive a secret buddy in the US (if you are in Canada). Be prepared to pay a few dollars more in shipping costs if this is the case. If you receive a secret buddy in Europe or overseas, there will be extra shipping costs, thus you will be reimbursed roughly $19 for the extra shipping. We will reimburse you via Paypal or cashier's check after the recipient receives their gift. Also, to save on shipping costs, you may want to keep the package "lighter".

This thread is ONLY for signups. Do not post any questions or anything else besides sign up in this thread. Please PM us if you have any questions.

You must already have your Yorkie (if you are a new Yorkie parent) by July 1, 2010 to participate in this Gift Exchange.

The signup period will end July 31, 2010. You will receive your Secret Buddy information within THREE DAYS after the end of the signup period. If for some reason you sign up and can not participate in this Gift Exchange, you MUST notify us before the end of the signup period.

You may send gifts starting August 1, 2010. The deadline for sending out gifts will be August 31, 2010.

No rawhides, no plush toys. Cooper is low maintainance. He has short hair and has no need for brushes, bows or any hair items. Would love a new fun collar (he only has plain right now), or pajamas. We aren't picky at all and I'm sure we will love everything. We are so excited about our first GE. Please no dog shoes.

Yorkie's Size of clothing (The common size you usually buy: XS, S, M, L) - prob. Small mostly but go by the measurements more because sizing is not the same on anything.

Yorkie's Favorite Toys, Snacks, Clothing style - Bentley likes just about any type of toys especially small things he can run off with in his mouth. HE's a strong chewer so stuffed toys with easy access to a tag or stiching he can pull off aren't as good, he'll eat out all the stuffing. He loves all treats but our family prefer natural treats like Zuke's, Fruitables, dried meats and fruits ext., his clothing style of choice is bad boy. he likes leather jackets, rock and roll stuff, he likes farmer boy clothing, he loves his little polos and hoodies. the only thing he doesn't really like is girlie stuff and baby stuff. he likes blue and green. he hates skulls and crossbones, but dog bones are fine. he likes harley stuff and he could really use a pair of doggles for his protection.

he can eat about anything, he dislikes skull and crossbones, he's not into the dudes wear pink movement he's too pretty as it is and has enough trouble convincing people that he's a boy silky terrier and not a girl yorkie ;) he really needs clothing more than anything else, his sister has tons of clothes and he doesn't have but three outfits right now. he needs doggles and he's love some sneakers ;) he has a ton of toys but more are welcome, he has plenty of treats so we really can do without a lot of extra treats since we're swarming in them from the last GE (thanks buddy). he could always use a super manly blingee collar or a blankie or bed all to himself. he's a rescue pup so he came with very little and he needs his own stuff. bully sticks from AMD are great!! a new boyish food bowl would be cool...sorry there's a long list, we're just giving you LOTS of ideas. we'd be happy with anything we get!! we love GE and we LOVE our buddies!! thanks in advance for our gifts we love them already buddy.

We don't use bows anymore UNLESS they have an alligator clip. She has gotten nasty scabs and hair loss from bands!

Baci loves any kind of squeeky toys and treats. He seems to go through beds so quickly. daddy put up with the clothes but REFUSES any bows.. he draws the line there, hehe.

Anything extra I want my Gift Exchange Pal to know about my Yorkie (please mention anything your Yorkie doesn't like or doesn't want or can't eat) - We are again fostering 2 rescues right now. Catherine is a spoiled baby, but now there is less attention for her. I really want a new harness for her, because the one I have keeps pulling her hair out. Humm, very fine metal combs, rat tail combs.... I always need those grooming type things things. I am really hoping to try some things I've never heard of. I keep learning about new things with each GE, and I am soo excited to do this again!

Clothing: Her clothing style is simple. She is all girl and likes girly things but simple. Frilly/lacy/ruffles are fine, just not over the top.She does wear clothes, but not much in the heat of the summer. We struggle to keep bows in, but she does wear hats.

He also woudl love a new small latex rubber chicken called the Henriettas or a "Cuz" latex ball. Barney loves to wear bows - we love bows from both LadyMom and from BowBizDogBows and could use some new grooming bands and boy boys. Barney is a diva, and loves to have his hair combed. We prefer Biogroom products for shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaner and we also love the Yorkie Sheen detangling spray from Walnut Hill Yorkies. Bridget is an only fur-baby so she has been a little spoiled with “fun” things, but could always use the essentials. Brushes, combs, shampoo samples – but wants her “Buddy” to know that she will LOVE anything and everything that she receives – she’s just excited about making a new friend!
Bridget also would like her “Buddy” to know that she was a rescue – and feels very thankful for Rescue Organizations who are helping those poor babies who are still looking for their forever homes - so if you would like – maybe send her something small as a token (a few bows, a bully stick) and anything above that please make a donation to the YTNR. Toys~since his siblings like to tear apart anything that has stuffing Bogey is not allowed to have stuffed toys either. Since he was not socialized well when he was little (before he became part of our family) he really does not play with toys.
Snacks~Bogey is not picky with his treats but he loves to chew. Any type of chew treats would be great. He also loves sweet potato treats too.

Well, Teddy:animal36Boo is a VERY special lil' Yorkie boy who I am actually fostering through Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue. When he came to me he had been suffering with a fractured hip plus an old fracture to his knee (same leg) and because of the amount of atrophy & neglect, he required an amputation. Thus our lil' Teddy became a special Tripod-Doggy.

Each of my own Yorkie's, Abby, Bella & Phoebe have all had turns playing in the Yorkie Talk Gift Exchange and I decided it should be Teddy's turn!
Even tho' he will eventually be adopted sometime down the road...he most definitely deserves to have this very special & fun experience, too!;)

Whatever Teddy receives from his special Secret:animal-paBuddy will go with him to his new furever home and he'll have his special memories of the GE with him to help him during his adjustment period...a lil' favorite toy or bed can do wonders at a time like that...sigh!

Yorkie's Favorite Toys, Snacks, Clothing style - Dreamer is a "pretty boy" and doesn't mind cute outfits, bows, collars, and accessories. He says he can pull off anything! ;):cool::D He is mommy's boy and is a little spoiled. He loves his pajamas for bedtime and since Fall is coming up fast he will start wearing hoodies, jumpers, etc. during the day. Our favorite doggie clothing brands are Go.Fetch, FuFu Fashions, MonkeyDaze, Ruff Ruff Couture, Pooch Outfitters, etc but we would love anything we got! :D He almost always has his hair up, so cute bows are great too. He loves anything soft...toys (even though he has too many toys already:rolleyes:), beds, blankets, etc. He LOVES to eat and chew. He is really not picky on treats, except really hard bones or biscuits since he has a tiny mouth. He gets bully sticks and the dental chews, anything but rawhide or greenies that he could get choked on.

His time playing with his buddies has been limited so his leg can heal, and he is spending his days being toted around in a sling carrier (even though the vet said he needed to be confined for two months, Dreamer said "Yeah right":rolleyes:). Sooo mommy decided that he deserved to be the lucky baby and do the GE this time! No rawhides or greenies (anything that can break into small pieces), but that's pretty much it! Dreamer is not picky and we will love anything we get!!! :aimeeyork:big_hug:

Your Yorkies' measurements–Tuffy weighs 7 pounds, has a 7.5” neck, is 9” Tall from his toes to the shoulder & 13” long from the base of his neck to the base of his tail & also has a 13” chest

Yorkies' size of clothing-sometimes a small & other times a medium; I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to return things that looked like the right size in the store but when I got it home it was too small or too large.*sigh* I learned it’s best to use measurements.

Yorkies’ Favorite Toys, Snacks, Clothing style –Tuffy likes toys that squeak, rattle, talk, bark, or make other cool noises. An interactive toy would be fabulous. He’s spoilt rotten when it comes to treats but we don’t give him any made in China anymore (he had a really bad intestinal bug & we think it was China chicken). He loves bully sticks & since we live in tight quarters a lot of the time, I prefer the non-smelly ones. We tend to share ours with other Yorkie owners we meet out on the road who’ve never tried them.
He’s a real casual dawgie when it comes to clothes.

Yorkies’ favorite colors –I think he looks awesome in all sorts of colors especially summer colors.

Tuffy is a trucking dawgie; he goes with DH & I over the road. He has 2 beds in the truck plus ours so we’re good as far as they go & I make a lot of bows too but it’s nice to have a variety. We use Madan brushes & combs & are set for harnesses. Please, have fun finding little stuff you think he may like. Whatever you decide to do is fine with us but we INSIST you have fun; no stressing over what to get him. J

Toys: anything that is SOFT and makes sounds. Squeeky, rattles or voices!
Snacks: He'll eat anything. We prefer healthy of course. Sometimes I let the junk slide! DINGO brand bones are his favorite! we like trying new things!
Clothing: Mostly casual. He likes tshirts with funny sayings on them.. that is If i can get them on him!

Anything extra I want my Gift Exchange Pal to know about my Yorkie- Unfortunately, we are not fans of bully sticks (we only tried one kind so far, so maybe we could try a different one? ). Preferably no clothes.. just doesnt wear them. Not a fan of bows either. He really needs a new bed. He chewed his last one and I have yet to find one to replace it. Just no warm feeling fabrics (fleece, fur.. etc). We also love anything personalized. We will love anything of course and don't stress! Just have fun!

Your Yorkie's Measurements (Weight, Height, Length, and Chest Size) -I think she weighs about 7 lbs (I will know for sure on Monday - she is being spayed :( and they will weigh her); Height is 10 1/2" from floor to shoulder; Neck is 8 1/2", Length is 11 1/2" and her chest is 12 1/2" (I hope I measured her correctly :)

Yorkie's Size of clothing (The common size you usually buy: XS, S, M, L) - She only has two pjs and they are both different sizes - I guess she would be a small

Yorkie's Favorite Toys, Snacks, Clothing style - Trixie would love an egg baby toy, a dr. noys xsmall teddy, squeakie mats, hide-a-treat toy, etc. (She loves to play with water bottles too!) She eats most natural treats such as zukes, gimbornpro-treatfreezedriedtreats, old mother hubbard special recipe puppy biscuits and fruitables. She loves her puppy nylabone too. Trixie would love some more pjs, and something warm to wear outside in the winter, maybe a fleece jumpers from YTer shanatink, aka tinkerbellscloset (hint hint).

Anything extra I want my Gift Exchange Pal to know about my Yorkie (please mention anything your Yorkie doesn't like or doesn't want or can't eat) - Trixie cannot eat bully sticks or liva-littles (she gets a tummy upset) and no rawhides or greenies please. No shampoos or conditioners - she only uses one type. This is our first ge and we just want our buddy to have a great time choosing items for Trixie!! She is a big snugglebug, with a sweet personality. She is still a puppy and just loves to play!! She can always use another snugglie bed to lie around on - we have one in the den and her crate up by my computer (since she sleeps in our bed now), but we could use one in the kitchen too. Please just have a fun time shopping for her!! I am sure she will love what you send her!!

Toys - Ginger loves anything with a lil squeaker in it, espeically toys with multiple squeakers.... those skineez (animals w/o stuffing) are a hit with her. For chewing purposes, she likes the Nylabones (make sure they are non-edible.. either flexi or the dental kind) and puppy teething rings. We are open to try anything else as well!

Snacks - Ginger has MVD so she is quasi limited in the treat department. I will list some of the treats she can have. You are not obligated to get these treats/food, I just thought I would share what she CAN have. Here are some of the treats that she can eat and loves: Healthy Snax Sweet Potato Dog Treats; PupCorn; Old Mother Hubbard Just Veggin Treats; Old Mother Hubbard Charlee Bears (Cheese and Egg Flavor only); Vitakraft Yogurt Drops (vanilla); either Parent's Choice or Gerber Little Fruits Strawberry-Banana (found in the baby section at any store - make sure its just freeze dried strawberry and bananas); Yorkie Yummies (any flavor). I give her a lot of different treats but many are in tiny amounts. Everyone in our house LOVES Himalayan Chews!

Clothes - Ginger would love a pair of pjs (may need to be a size small b/c of length). Since its getting cooler, she could use a cute hoodie or sweatshirt. We are open to pretty much anything in the clothing department.

Trust me, Ginger will LOVE anything that you send. Don't get bent out of shape over treats b/c if you send something that she cannot eat, my other 3 babies will gladly take care of them for you! Please no collars, rawhide, skull/cross bones. We love personalized and unique gifts as well handmade! We are so excited and we already love you Secret Buddy!!!

A little more about Anakin...
Anakin is a snuggle bug. He likes to torture his grandma and his twin sister. He is a bit of mommas boy and he always finds a way onto my lap. He has changed into a little man and isn't as much of a trouble maker as he was in his younger days... Or maybe he is just better at hiding it. :P He loves to go on hikes and walks and enjoys taking naps at the park while everyone runs around.
