YorkieTalk Gift Exchange XIX SIGNUPS!
 

The next YorkieTalk Gift Exchange, YT GE XIX, our nineteenth Gift Exchange, will take place in February 2010. Remember that the person you are giving a gift to MAY or MAY NOT be the same person you are receiving a gift from. You MAY or MAY NOT be paired with a Yorkie of the opposite sex. There is no official theme for this GE, though if you want to give your Secret Buddy winter-related items, that is fine.

PLEASE NOTE THE BELOW if your Secret Buddy lives in Canada or the United Kingdom or overseas:

We suggest you use the US Postal Service to mail to Canada or a non-USA address (as UPS and Fedex charges additional fees).

Also, please note to mark your item as a gift, and please do not claim it as more than $50, otherwise your Secret Buddy will have to pay import taxes on it. If you have any questions about this, please contact us. Thank you!

Please note in order to participate:

- You are a Donating Member of YorkieTalk.

- You have 250 or more posts here at YorkieTalk (before you sign up in this thread).

- You joined YorkieTalk before October 1, 2009.

- Please do NOT send your Secret Buddy any USED toys or clothes. Re-gifting a new item you may have received is fine, but any USED items are not allowed.

Please do not sign up unless you are currently a Donating Member.

Please note that the spending minimum is $25 for your Gift Exchange gift (this does not include shipping), though if you choose to spend more on your Secret Buddy, you may. Please do not expect anything more.

Here is the Gift Exchange Rules and Regulations thread. Please read it again, as there have been some changes to the rules since the last Gift Exchange. We now require all participants to be Donating Members (members that have donated $25 or more). If you are ALREADY currently a Donating Member (your usertitle shows Donating Member), this does not apply to you. We must receive your donation before you may sign up for this Gift Exchange. If you want to enter two Yorkies in this Gift Exchange, you must have donated a total of $50 or more.

Please note that you MAY receive a secret buddy in Canada (if you are in the US), and you MAY receive a secret buddy in the US (if you are in Canada). Be prepared to pay a few dollars more in shipping costs if this is the case. If you receive a secret buddy in Europe or overseas, there will be extra shipping costs, thus you will be reimbursed roughly $19 for the extra shipping. We will reimburse you via Paypal or cashier's check after the recipient receives their gift. Also, to save on shipping costs, you may want to keep the package "lighter".

This thread is ONLY for signups. Do not post any questions or anything else besides sign up in this thread. Please PM us if you have any questions.

You must already have your Yorkie (if you are a new Yorkie parent) by January 1, 2010 to participate in this Gift Exchange.

The signup period will end January 31, 2009. You will receive your Secret Buddy information within THREE DAYS after the end of the signup period. If for some reason you sign up and can not participate in this Gift Exchange, you MUST notify us before the end of the signup period.

You may send gifts starting February 1, 2010. The deadline for sending out gifts will be March 1, 2010.

Jimi LOVES toys, especially stuffed animals. However, he does not like rubbery toys or balls, just the soft stuff. :)

He will only eat soft or chewy treats, not the hard ones. I only give him treats that are all-natural, with no by-products.

He loves chews, especially bully sticks, (and he would love to try the Himalayan chews!) but I do not give him any greenies or rawhides.

Jimi does not have much of a wardrobe at this point, so he would love to get some new clothes, especially a coat. He would also love to get a new harness and/or lead!

Jimi is quite the cuddle bug and he loves to snuggle up in a doggy bed or blankie.

It is our first GE and we are so excited! What I have written above is just a guideline, Jimi will truly love anything that he gets! :D

As is evident from her age, she is still growing. She had a recent growth spur so maybe it will slow down a bit now but we do not mind if someone errors on the side of caution – going up if unsure in size. We plan to go non grain food soon though she is currently eating Royal Canin 33. Furthermore, I personally, am intolerant to wheat gluten and thus, we will be looking to limit any such ingredient in Zoey’s food and treats as well. Zoey is a girly girl tom boy if that makes sense. Full of attitude and energy but loves her mommy and daddy VERY much and loves to receive and give loads of affection.
Most importantly – Zoey loves and appreciates all that she receives so no worries =) !!

As far as snacks go, he gets dried sweet potato,Dukes blueberry & peanut butter treats & dried chicken and he really really loves AMDs' bullies (westbrookdogs.com) We're always up for trying new things as long as they're healthy.
Tuffy has several sweaters & lightweight jackets that are definitely neccessities but he's outgrown the "cute" stuff we got for him just after we got him. I make his bows myself but we enjoy them all.

Please no skull/crossbones, camo or anything like that. Max has more of a “preppy” wardrobe. Some things we have been wanting to try are Yorkie Splash and Shine (shampoo and conditioner by WalnutHill) and salmon oil (in a pump). You can never go wrong with a step in harness from Chattiesmom (he has a blue one and LOVES it), Yorkie Yummies, beds, etc.

I wanted to list several different ideas so that our secret buddy would not be stumped! We LOVE homemade and personalized gifts! Most importantly, get Max what YOU want to get Max! Treats and Snacks- BULLY STICKS! We go through a 12 or 16 incher every week! She LOVES treats with dehydrated Duck (or just plain duck jerky!)--wrapped around banana or sweet potato are our favorites! But I've been looking for some new treats to try. She also likes plain yogurt drops.

Toys- She loves stuff she can chew on (we have a small everlasting treat ball, nylabones, etc.), balls, and stuff that squeaks. SO pretty much everything.

Clothing- We love girly dresses, t-shirts, and tops, but nothing too warm because we don't get to use them that often in Florida. Stella wears a ponytail daily and on occasion she'll wear a bow to match her outfit or just because.

Sam is not allowed to have rawhide or greenies and he doesnt like laytex toys. We love blankies, pillows, beds, clothes, toys , treats.. whatever! Sam is going to love whatever!

Not so sure... Best guess is 7-8 months. He has all his permanent teeth. We have had him since Nov 10th and he gone from 6.4 to 6.5
Ollie is the lil one that I took in bc a lady found him and she was keeping him outside where her German Shepard was trying to eat him. SO I took him with the idea of finding him a new home, well I DID find him a home, it just happened to be mine!! LOL

Weight= 6.5
Height= Best I could get was 8 but I have no idea if that is right or not
Length= 13-14
Chest= 14

Yorkie's Size of clothing (The common size you usually buy: XS, S, M, L) -
He has been wearing Sam's handmedowns which are Small.

Yorkie's Favorite Toys, Snacks, Clothing style -
Toys = anything that makes noise, Smoochie lips, crackly things, soft, and anything he can chew on. He likes those red hard plastic bones from walmart.
