Only 23??? I realized that only 23 people have signed up so far for the GE!!! Can we go to other forum areas and encourage donating members to sign up for the GE?? Or is that allowed? We are already half way thru the month...and it will be a sad GE if we don't get more to sign up!!!! Any ideas? |
I just noticed that too. I have a feeling that more people will sign up as the deadline gets closer. Some people like to wait until the last minute because their babies' measurements keep changing. If we don't get many more sign ups - we'll have to be careful with our hint threads, or we'll give it away too easily. |
Yes, you may promote it in other forums if you would like, as long as you don't overly do it (like 20 new threads in 20 different forums). ;) A couple of threads is fine. :) |

I love GE's and can't wait for more YT members to sign up!! I love that the GE comes around as often as it does, this way depending on your circumstances you can join in... Its still early maybe to tell how many people/entries there will be, isn't the deadline the 31st?? The last one it seemed that we had tons of entries at the last hour alone, so I am going to keep on hoping there is more :D |

i am still debating on signing up...hehe..i love GE's and haven't miss one yet! but due to not having a job...and living off of unemployment...it makes it kinda difficult...if you know what i mean...hehe |

i would love too and i will hopefully the next time around...just hard because bailee has had to get all her puppy shots,im getting a new apt and just lost my job...its ok though,i planned for this when the economy got bad,just cant do the extras right now :) |

This is great, sounds like there are more and more people that haven't even done a GE before that are interested. Don't forget to sign up on the sign up thread... it really is so much fun. This will be our 2nd GE. We loved the Christmas/Holiday GE and we expect this one to be even more fun with having a Valentine.. :D |

I'm torn about signing up again. And a big part because of the economy - my employer is forcing a week off with no pay :( and I could still loose my job I already have a few things for the GE - already beyond the $20 minimum, but I always like to do some special things after I know exactly who our buddy is. So right now, I'm trying to decide what to do & if it selfish of me to even participate. As we have had buddies in the past do much more for us than I could afford to do. I know many will say it's not about the dollar amt & I believe that too - but I really don't want my buddy to be let down, if we are somehow paired together :love: :rolleyes: & they do more for us. I really wish we would set a maximum on our GE gifts rather than a minimum. Say $50 |
I agree with your viewpoint about the spending issue, but I know that I repeatedly go over $50 on just little things, and then usually one or two special items. I keep a box with good things for the GE and pull it out when I need it. There is over $20 worth of stuff in that box now, but I LIKE to spend more when I have it. So I think I'm going to limit myself to one a year and buy things one at a time. Helps me afford the good stuff. plus $20 isn't a lot of stuff for a little dog. :rolleyes: |

I don't think anyone here expects GIANT boxes of stuff... I know I probably went over board the first GE...and I won't be able to go that crazy this time...however I think what is exciting..is to get something personal...or special that they don't have... Maybe even something handmade... My SB got me..or made for me..I'm not sure which.. a personalized plaque with both my babies names on it...and I'm telling you..if that was the only thing she sent me I would have been THRILLED!! And she even made a little bed with a matching coat!!! She made it a very special GE for me and my Daizy!! I will include a pic of it! I just love it so much. Everyone has a special talent or something that they can do well! Even baking home made doggie snacks!! This time I'm making something special for whoever I get...plus I'll add something that they really want to my gift.. Please don't stay out of the GE cuz you can't afford a TON of money!! Join in...just try to think of something special..or different... That is what makes it a great GE! Not how MUCH people spend....but it's how much thought they put into it!! |
I think a lot of people signed up for the Christmas one and maybe need to take this one off. I like that they are often because then you can join in whenever since there always seems to be one going on or coming up. I think if there was one only once a year- people would go WAY over board (as it is now i think things are getting a big carried away with how much is spent) since it would only be once a year. |
We will be signing up, toward the deadline. Suri is almost 7 months old so I am trying to see if she is going to grow more. :D I think she finally hit 2 pounds. :) |

I worried about Evie's sizes too as she is still growing, but there is a thread where you can mention additional stuff like growth in measurements, I have noticed that all or most of the GE participants check to see if there are any other posts from their SB just in case of this. I just think that not that many people have signed up for this GE since it's the GE after X-mas. And people probably have some X-mas bills to pay. I definitely over did it for the holidays and I'm going to sit this one out. I can't wait to see everyone's pictures when they open their boxes. :p |
Well I was planning on signing Jamie up for this one but since we have a new puppy coming to our house in February, I decided to wait until the next one so that we would be sure and have plenty of funds for all the new puppy essentials. Hopefully though we'll be able to sign up Jamie and Beau for the next one! |
I would like to sign up for our first GE but funds are a little low now. I seen pics from previous GE's and all the wonderful gifts everyones baby gets and am afraid my gifts won't be as nice. |
It sounds like a lot of people are in your boat, LilDaysha. It's my first GE too. Personally, I would be thrilled to get an assortment of free dog food samples, because I haven't found a good kibble for Thor, and I don't want to go to the trouble of collecting them myself. I'm thinking everyone knows they can send more modest gifts this time? |
