Isn't basting a temporary seam...and a stay stitch is so the seam doesn't stretch?

You are correct. Baste stitch and stay stitch are not the same things. Not sure why they would change one to the other?
Basting is temporary and removable. Stay stitches are to stabilize the fabric.
And I teach sewing. | Thanks Teach :)
See, I never learned that stay stitch. but my memory may just be lagging since my school days. I graduated in 1985 !
So, how do I get my hands on one of those book ? :D |
