My First and Maybe My Last 3 Attachment(s) Well after seeing all the posts on Fashion I decided to give it a try. Pulled out my sewing machine which I hadn't used in I don't know how long and gave it a try. Well 8 hours yes it took me 8 hours started at 11 this morning and finished at 7 pm. Holy Moly 8 hours to make a dress. You see I didn't use a pattern just kind of winged it. Awww next time I will buy a pattern and follow the directions. Well all I can say it one one a kind. I give all you folks alot of credit for the beautiful things you make your very talented and creative! :) |
That dress is gorgeous...great work...love the fabric and the pleats!!!! |
Looks amazing. Great job |
What a pretty dress on a beautiful little girl. I love the fabric too and you did a great job. |

Well, I certainly hope that is NOT your last. That's adorable!! You did an amazing job - and withOUT a pattern? C'mon! Give yourself some credit. Very nice :) |
Absolutely adorable! Both furbaby and dress. You did an awesome job!!! |
Thank-you for all for your kinds words on Chloe's dress. Good thing I purchased a yard and a half with all the mistakes I made. LOL But I have to admit it was fun getting out the machine and sewing again. |
Oh my, LOL no wonder it took a long time, it's frigging perfect, really it is, and pleated no less. The dress is beautiful and it looks great on Chloe. did you trace another dress or just wing it and cut it out, you must have been a really good sewer at one time for this to be your first attempt. Please make sure to check out the designers challenge thread and join us for the Paw-ject runway show |
Well I hope it isn't your last because you did a great job!! The dress is perfect as is the model!! Your first time may have took 8 hours but once you get the pattern and method down you can make one in no time, just takes practice!! |

How cute! I'd never be able to do pleats. That's scary to me. Hard enough making a ruffle! |

Second... kudos to you for even trying. I've been tempted myself but am afraid it would be a disaster and much like you will take me 8 hrs or more. But dang .... you did a wonderful job, Its beautiful. Love how you did the pleated skirt. Dont stop now your on a roll . . . maybe next one will only take 6 hrs. :D |
If I can give you any advice, I will say, take notes of what you thought were mistakes and remember to not do them next time. As you keep sewing you will find shortcuts and tricks to make everything neater and easier. Just keep going. Don't stop! You're doing a great job! :) BTW yes there is math, algebra to be specific! Keep those notes handy too! I forget easily so refer to the notes and it will help you tons! |
WOW!! you didnt have a pattern and you did inverted box pleats. I am impressed, truely impressed. |
