me?? knitting?! Hello? what is this? I must have a fever! Me, the least talented person in the world when it comes to crafts and DIY and stuff like that, well here I am learning to knit! I'm 26 and my family thinks my maternal instinct is getting stronger ( plus I got married last year and when they saw my attempts at knitting they assumed I want to have a baby.) Naah, this is gonna be for my Lili ! :D |
Lmao. That is wonderful! Everyone has a talent. knitting might be yours. I was thinking about learning. I can not remember who but she made a beautiful Irish sweater with a hat. It would look so cute on Galen. Maybe I can do it lol. |

So how are you doing and how are you going about learning? I hope you are having better luck than me. |

LOL! You sound like me. It is called Yorkie-itis. It's when completely non-crafty people, such as you and myself, all of the sudden start doing crafty stuff just out of the blue. It only happens after becoming the Mom to a Yorkie. Scared me at first, but now I've embraced it. :D |

Kudos to you all for trying! Don't forget, Youtube videos are great for learning all kinds of stuff. Also check out PBS Public TV, they have a few shows about sewing and knitting there... quilting too! Also, if you have any questions or run into any problems... you can post questions on here and maybe we can help! |

That's her 1 Year Old Birthday Girl dress. It was made by Melanie of CedricNLola fashions :) |
And just remember, the first things you make may not be perfect, but don't give up! Practice will make it better, and you'll learn new things with each project! When I started to knit again after 30+ years, I couldn't remember how to cast on stitches! I was trying to do ribbing and it looked more like a basketweave, lol. But I kept trying and practicing and I get it now! I learned how to fix some mistakes along the way too. My pups aren't too picky, they love wearing stuff I make for them! If you want a laugh, I posted a thread with picks of my first knitted dog sweater. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yt-...eater-lol.html Oh no! The pics must have been lost when YT updated their server! Here's my 2nd attempt, using a pattern this time: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yt-...ttern-lol.html |
You can do it. It's really fun. I was once where you were at. Me, knit? Yeah right! :D Now I've knitted some things I thought I would never be able to do. |

Have fun with your knitting too! We'd love to see what you come up with. ;) |
