New Machine
 
Well mom and I have been making a few things for my daughters baby. Easy things for now. She owns two nice machines. We have made a few dog clothes also.. She does the sewing but I am learning. Anyways she ordered a new emboidery machine. It is also a sewing machine. I can not wait to learn how to use this.:) It will be so much fun to actually personalize things.

You will enjoy personalizing things with the new embroidery machine! Congrats on being brave enough to learn how to sew. I have always thought that sewing is one thing that you have to actually do in order to learn how to do it. I'm excited for you...and a bit nosey...what kind of machines did you decide to buy? I'm just curious!!

Please post picts of what you make, that's half the fun!!

Wow! Can't wait to see what you craft with the new machine! It will be amazing to do the embroidery, too :)

It's a HE 240 brother. She owns two nice sewing machines as her and dad did a lot of quilting a few years back. I figure we will learn this new one together. :). She said I never thought I would be making dog clothes. Lol. We will have lots of learning to do. But looks like it does it all for you. My kind of sewing :)

Brother is a very good brand and I'm sure your mom knows exactly what she's doing. I don't really quilt so I think it's fantastic that she is there to help you out. I'm very excited to see what you come up with. Good luck and be sure to have fun!!!

An embroidery machine is on my list of two things I want so badly, that and a new DSLR camera since my 12 year old one is practically useless. So jealous lol

Have fun sewing and learning with your mother!! My mother and sister taught me to hand quilt years ago....making quilts is my favorite thing to make.

Oh what fun this is going to be. It didnt come till later this afternoon. So this is the only project for today. Mom and I had a few oops with filling bobbins. But have it all figured out. It really is very easy. :). First project

Hope you girls have as much fun with your new machine as I've had with mine! ;)

Be sure to check into good stabilizers. I've found it's the key to not having issues with your machine.

My grandmother used to quilt and I really regret that I didn't ask her to teach me. I love to do hand sewing. My mom gave me a Double Wedding Ring quilt that grandma made by hand. It's stunning!!

You are really blessed to know how to do this type of art!! I am jealous!!

Thanks! Hand quilting maybe a dying art. I realize I am blessed to know how to quilt. I'm interested in machine quilting. In fact, I'm gearing up to give it a shot. :)

Do you care to share what stabilizers you use on what fabric? I still get puckers in my appliques.

We made a new dress today. And I actually sewed lots of it :) pretty exciting stuff. We also made two tag blankets for my dd baby due first of August. This is very addicting :)

Looks Great!! That butterfly is the same one I did as my first project on my embroidery machine. I made both of my girls dresses. Great minds think alike. ;)

Oh that's wonderful! It's a great "first"! Isn't it fun to watch that machine go?? I just love mine and I know you will get a lot of use and have a lot of fun with yours! What's the next project?? LOL

looking good. i bought a brother 6800 last year so i could put moomoo's name on clothes. check out bunnycup.com. look in the free retired set section. the patterns pull right over to your machine from the site and are easy to use. lots of cute free patterns
