| I was reading online about having a design wall. Simply put its a felt covered area or wall, either temporary or permanent, where you can put up fabrics and patterns together to step back and see how they'll look together. I made one wall into a design wall in my sewing room. I got 2 yards of 72" wide felt, a twin sized package of batting and stapled them to the wall. Fabrics stick to the felt and I can move things around and check the placement, how colors look next to each other, etc. Since I used batting, I can also put pins into it if needed. Just thought others might like the idea and implement it into their sewing rooms/area. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/...60BF97AAC3.jpg

| How clever! What a fantastic idea, thanks for sharing. I am trying to get my sewing room reorganized - a job that is going to be the death of me yet . Whenever I move things around it feels like I'm in a strange land. |

| Me too! And now I have an 8ft quilting table in mine, so I can't move much around.

| oh thanks for sharing!!! I have seen boards covered like that for quilters but I just never thought of doing a whole wall. My "mom cave" is so small and crowded that I really need to finish organizing. I was motivated when I saw Amyee's, purchased a label maker and that was the end of that lolI will use your idea... maybe shelves very high for things not used often. It will be one of my goals

| Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Great idea. I wonder if he would let me turn the upstairs of the barn into a work area instead of his man cave. . . Right now it is full of bins. I have a bunch of bins with fabric. I really need to have a fabric garage sale

| Love the idea! My sewing room is more like a sewing closet so I use my formal table for this. I do have to clean it off when people are going to actually sit there to eat. |

| And this is why part of me is glad that Bekah decided to "grow up" and move out!
