Nuts for yorkie clothes! So I admit I have a problem.....Teeka has so many clothes that her dresser drawer is stuffed to the brim! She has clips and bows, dresses, sweaters, pajamas, coats, t-shirts and harnesses! Her latest outfits are Hello Kitty and giraffe suits! She is only 5 1/2 months! Am I a nut case or do others outfit their furbabies like this? :aimeeyork |
i just bought my girls a hello kitty dress and i make clothes.....also ..its a bad addiction and one many of us have....errr i mean our yorkies have. |

Well...she has a closet with some dresses hung on hangers! HeeHee, I guess I forgot to tell you all that part! The closet is for her fancy clothes! |
I'd love to have a closet dedicated to Waffles. Hmmmmmmm .. I'll have to work on that. Right now she's got a drawer in a chest FULL to the brim with all the things SHE had to have. That's right SHE had to have them. Those puppy dog eyes will get ya every time. LoL never mind the fact she was home while I was shopping for her. |
:yelrotflmI am just a laughing, knowing that I am not alone!!!! |

A yorkie's powers of telepathy are crazy strong! I can be an hour away from home shopping, and I can sense that ZoE reallys wants what I'm looking at. Who am I to go against powers that strong? |
mine didnt have a drawer after 4 months old, we upgraded her to her own closet space and a huge ottoman :) its an addiction... |
So funny....when we have company over for dinner my dh HAS to show them remys closet!:D:) He makes fun of me but acts so proud to show off lol |

I have that problem too! Thinking I am going to start attending Yorkie Shopping Anonymous soon. I have so many outfits/shoes/bows that I don't even know what my girls have. I am storing everything in tubs (yes plural...I think we are up to 4 or 5 tubs) but im hoping to design them a closet out of an old tv entertainment center...something so I can see at a glance what they have. This christmas I saw these really cute sweaters they had to have but when I got the sweaters home I realized I had bought them almost the exact same thing last year!! Has any one posted pictures of their yorkie closets? Im looking for ideas and my phone isn't allowing me to search on the forum. |
I just read this page to my DH to prove it wasn't just me! Khaleesi has an over-the-door rack FULL of clothes and a little drawer of things she has yet to grow into. However, she has outgrown more than half of them. When I bought the XXXS they were too large. Who would have DREAMED she would shoot up faster than ANY Yorkie has a right to grow! :D (She is 5 months old and is LITERALLY 10 times her size when I got her.) I plan to put them away, though, because there is a little sissy in Khaleesi's future. :animal-pa THANK YOU for starting this thread. I don't feel so alone! |
So to continue with this obsession of mine.....Walmart has their winter coats on sale for half price! Teeka came home in a soft, purple fleece w/heart. I just couldn't resist!!!! :aimeeyork |
Im laughing Deb...I just made a purchase of some coats on Ebay and sent an email to two other sellers cuz they each had a couple of outfits Ruby and Rosie just HAVE to have! The last month and a half my new thing has been to send pictures of their new outfits to Susan of BowBiz for matching bows! :-) Over Christmas my mom said that she was ok with being a grandmother to dogs...she saw everything I had bought the last month and she said that if I had human girls instead of puppy girls I would never have any money! :D |
Raising my hand over here! I am guilty of this as well. I am ashamed to show you how much we have accumulated. My husband thinks it's nuts! But he is a good sport about it! :) |
Some one on here posted a beautiful blanket that she is making for her little girl yorkie. It has a yorkie in a box w/ bows and the name. I so want one, too! :aimeeyork |

Mrs. Beasley doesn't have nearly the amount of clothes some of her friends have, but she is getting quite a few. I think I will go check out the Walmart 1/2 price sale tomorrow. :) |
In Iowa, they had all the dog coats 1/2 price. I pickup a fleece on for $2.50! |

Mina started out with a cute box for her clothes, this lasted 8 weeks. Then I remembered that my husband had made an American Girl Doll closet for my daughters out of a cradenza and NOONE used it anymore, this lasted until last October. Now Mina has my grandmothers wardrobe and my DH put 3 rods in it. There is a hat closet for her blankets and suitcase,,yes she has her own luggage,4 drawers that,at this time, she shares with the other furbabies. I sew, make matching hairbows and make the hangers for her closet. Im just a tiny bit nuts, but her clothes cost not much because I buy onesies and cute baby dresses at Kid to Kid and the thrift store. I tell my family that it is a passion NOT an addiction. |

Im curious how you make the hangers...would you care to share? I have a ton of dresses but no hangers! |
I have a bucket full. Was thinking about getting my babies their own dresser soo just thought I was crazy.good to know I'm not alone lol! |

Wow you guys are fantastic ;) I will slowly accumulate lol |
LOL ... At first I thought I was very conservative about the amount of clothes that I bought for my dogs, but all these Christmas sales have brought out the crazy in me. In the past week I have bought Dexter & Clyde each a Jacket, two shirts, a hoodie, some PJ's, and some more accessories. They have moved up from keeping their clothes in boxes to hanging them up in the closet alongside my own wardrobe. Now that I know about this walmart sale things may yet to continue to get a bit crazy>.< ALSO!!! To anyone out there looking for hangers for their Yorkshire terrier .... in target/walmart you can buy a package of toddler/infant hangers that work PERFECTLY for Yorkshire terrier clothes ... |
I could really use some more hangers! I have a few that my daughter left from her kids. They are the infant/toddler hangers and they do work perfectly to hang puppy clothes! |
